AT and AP Mines

Currently level 25 US for normandy campaign and I only ever bought one of each mine. I know mines are new additions to the game but it seems to me they are too expensive for what theyre worth. Ive placed a AT mine down in front of a puma that clearly ran over it (Ran over the mine after the delay was placed) and it didnt even go off. Also with the constant explosive barrages on the map at any given time I cant help but wonder if other explosives also trigger the mines. Also do mines stay in the game after my squad dies? Or will they despawn if the original squad that places them is killed? The AP mine is a good addition too but I feel they are being triggered earlier than anticipated due to explosive spam. The way I see it currently is explosive packs and gernades are cheaper and more of a for sure way of dealing with a tank rather than hoping a tank runs over the mine and they are cheaper than mines are. My suggestion would be since they are situational weapons they should be reduced to one bronze order each.

only thing i dont like about the AT mines if you can shoot them and they explode. Artillery is fine but not bullets

Theyre fine how they are. You plant them down and they stay there until an enemy steps on them or shoots them. Just plant them in well traveled areas and its a guaranteed vehicle/player kill every time you plant one. Reducing their cost would just lead to spam which is the absolute last thing anyone wants. Theyre already going to be a massive problem in a few months when everyone is placing them and you have 30 mines from one player alone around an objective. Explosives can set them off but it needs to be really close. And sure, explosive packs and grenades are better but you have to put yourself at risk to use them, with mines you don’t.

Im not suggesting to change how they work only that they need to look at how much it costs for what they are worth. And one person cant place 30 down since you can only have one mine per character. And after testing them today only about 10% of them went off when infantry and vehicles were clearly seen being right on top of them.

i had mix feelings about it.

and our ( as a community when they were first announced ) concerns were right.

and now that i have almost two squads fulled with mines, i can say the following:

mines fields can be made. and almost nothing can stop it.

mines comes with lots of issues, such as, sometimes they dissapear, others do not get activated despite the enemy clearly steps into it. cheesy spammable tactic and lastly, if you move in a circle, sometimes they clip through the ground. good luck for tankers in finding those until it’s too late.

so yeah, that’s basically it. they are stronger as someone somewhere always step into mines but so unconsistent.

i never thought of saying that, but either rework them, or remove them. they should not belong.

like, i’m ok with them, but i don’t think they are all that interestring or overpowerly broken.

and i can just use a mine, throw a grenade at infantry, and shoot with the mine with the rifle so that the tank gets destroyed and there you go. bingo i guess.

honestly, no.

they should cost more.

hard for me to explain, but it’s better that way.

One person with 3 full squads of mine layers can easily plant all mines with one squad then go suicide as a defender and repeat and theres no counter

Picked up my first AT mine today. Worked just fine for me although the tank kill was not credited to me (the crew kills were). And can definitely confirm that they will be broken when you can just place them in chokepoints and get this:

I whole heartedly agree I have two squads full with them and they really don’t work that well but you decrease the cost and it’s gonna be horrendous plus they don’t always show up in game on your soldier
