So how is the assaulter AI? Im considering to go full stg44 spam with the silver I have saved up, but ass-AI have a rich history of being worse than rifle AI.
Don’t go full Stg-44 as it isn’t very fun friendly

My AI who use STG45 are pretty good (at range) so the same might apply
AI blow in CQC
LMG AI are still better
They actually kill things when they make single shots

That depends 
If Assault-AI is still shitier than the rest of AI (rifle-,mg- and sniper-AI) than I wont bother going full stg44.
I’ll just keep on going full fg-42 
I have full PPSh and full STG squads and honestly the AI is inconsistent where at times they can snipe enemies from a distance but there are times that they also don’t do anything. Same could be said about MGs and rifles.
It’s funny because today in Tunisia my bots with bolt actions sitting on the hill with me all got many kills for a bot. One bot got 8 kills.
Most the time they get 0 or 1 kill.
