The bombardment spam in this game is insane, I like almost everything about this game except this horror. Arty is i guess ok, could be less frequent but its marked on map so you can avoid it, fair enough, but then it gets combined with bomber planes who spam and wipe all squads the second you spawn,they dont even have to be precise because the AOE of explosives is huge. Anti aircraft guns are pure joke and not usable, super slowy while planes are super fast. what the fuck and how can that be fun. Especially on very unbalanced maps like D-day beach where germans have a turkey shoot.
100% agree, what gets me most though is the arty, players can just spam that stuff so much to the point were the kill feed is just arty and only arty every game without a break in between the barrages
The arty is the very worst of them all. It shakes your cam, you can’t see, can’t shoot, it’s available every 30 seconds and lasts for like 25 or something. You just click on the map and that’s all. That’s the worst.
I mean, they kinda do. Try flying it yourself, you have to be precise, there is a lot of times you see a single kill in the kill feed from a bomber run. Sometimes you also see 20. That’s a problem of the team if there is 20 guys in one place. The spawn bombing has been dealt with by having the planes spawn a whole minute after the game starts.
They very much are usable. Planes have to go in a straight line to bomb, not to mention they always resupply in the same spot. + you can hear them come from miles away. It’s not easy by any means, but AA is a very powerful tool in this game. It’s just people build it once, see it turns slowly and never give it an actual chance.
Bruh. You know US can flank on that map from about 350 different angles. If US team is dumb as bricks, they can have trouble on the first objective, otherwise it’s a walk in the park. Flank, build rally points, shoot MG nests, that all there is to it.
How you capture points in invasion/assault if attackers have to avoid going in cap zone?
Out of 20-30 times playing this map i won it only 1 time. That first time was won probably because german team was all starting noobs. So yeah its big time unbalanced. Second objective is even harder to take.
I win about 50% of them. Biggest reason for a loss is team is total garbage, nobody is taking the cap, just farming kills. First point rush in from right side and jump into the broken roof of the bunker, pref. with a flamer (if you know there are germans in there give them a cooked explosive, there are 2 rooms where they can take cover. Then just flame all entrances and laugh as you cap. Ive solocapped it plenty of times. Second point the central bunker has MG’s and a window/opening towards them. You can clear half the map from there, kill them a bit until the front is behind the objective then just take it.
First of all, I very much doubt it. Second of all, you can find dozens of posts on this forum that cry about US having too much of an advantage on this map. Wow, almost as if it might be simply your personal experience and your team incompetence.
It lasts like 10-15 seconds. It also friendly fires, so continuously firing it onto a capture point will actively hurt your own team. It also gives a warning circle ~5 seconds before bombardment starts, allowing you to find some cover, or get out of the affected area. It’s really not that bad.
On top of this, planes are blind. They drop on places they know are often crowded by enemy players. If you avoid the populated areas and stay indoors, you should have 0 issues with planes.
If you start by sniping the MGs, and setting up a rally point on one of the flanks, you immediately fix all of the issues you encounter and will steamroll until the end. During CBT, the map was extremely balanced. The average skill was higher as only people with the money and dedication to play seriously played the game. Nowadays, most of the players don’t even know they can mark things on the map. D-Day punishes teams that aren’t skilled very hard. But that’s a skill issue, not a map issue.
I mean, I often encounter an enemy team with 3 - 4 radio squads, meaning the bombardment is very much consistent (not to mention I still stand by 20 seconds, it takes 5 seconds to fire, and when it ends I have 5 seconds on my artillery cooldown).
Let’s look at the first objective in the swamp invasion. The first part of the point that is capturable is in front of the house with no cover, meaning you have to defend the objective by being in the house that is in the back of the objective. Now if I get 3 constant barrages on the house, the defense is impossible. US troops can walk to the house no problem, not get hit by anything including both enemy incoming fire or friendly artillery. This goes for most objectives, just use the ability wisely.
Yeah, not really if it’s on the only part with cover on a objective you are defending or when you have to reach the objective in a hurry to not loose it.
Most of the games I don’t experience it being so bad, but when there are at least 2 radio squads on either team, it’s not fun for either side. Just shakiness and redness.
