Artillery should not be able hit through building or Barrier. Many time people call artillery on point and if you stay you are get blown to bit but if leave then gun down by outside people (and is hard to get infantry to follow lead in timely manner).
I think artillery should not do damage through wall. Suppression is fine but damage make holding in building untenable.
I am not entirely sure if is bug or not but I will put here.
Perhaps, to relieve but not make artillery useless is to make unable be placed on points? This way it require placing around point but not on so that defenders can defend and attacker must still attack.
Well, in real life, the buildings would be destroyed, seeing as most of them are wooden, or they would catch on fire, plus, it wasn’t un-common for them to use HET (High explosive timed), they’d penetrate a wall or roof and explode after a few milliseconds
ok then have building destroyable or actually have shell penetrate
right now shrapnel is what kill as it phase through wall
I believe this may be glitch or bug, as mortarteam mortar do not hurt through wall. I do not know which side is intended. Perhaps log house is just more porous??
Well, for one, the mortar is smaller, and is generally not equal in velocity compared to a howitzer fired shell, as the mortar is intended for closer range support, and thus doesn’t need to travel far
There is absolutely nothing fun about getting killed by artillery while you’re in a building trying to cap a point. It should do no damage unless it actually makes it in through a window or doorway.
Perhaps is issue with map. Some building do not allow artillery to damage through walls. Perhaps points should only have these buildings on them?
Artillery still useful as it make enemy stay inside away from window like big wind storm so it still give form of cover for attackers.
