Artillery strike QOL

This post is targeted at fixing artilleries issues from a quality of life standpoint. Not necessarily to stop spam but to make things easier to understand and more consistent.

The main issues currently are:

  • The ability to place an artillery strike when somebody else on your team is placing one. Leading to the frustrating message “artillery strike already active”

  • both team strike zones of the same color and show for both teams.

Proposed fixes:

  • Introduce slightly darkening or lightening up strike indicators on the map. This would help distinguish what team is attacking with artillery. Another possible solution is remove the ability to see when an enemy is striking an area.

  • Relock the artillery strike menu and separate supply boxes to an area underneath artillery strike within the pie menu. This way you can tell what is being used and what isn’t. You also won’t get the issue of being locked entirely out of supply drops.

I’m not touching on the artillery spam because that’s an entirely different form of fix, not exactly quality of life and more balance then anything else.

No, this will result in ppl running through friendly arty strike (more than they do now) while the enemy needs to hide. And that’s just wrong.

There is still the other proposed change within that point, entirely remove the ability to see enemy strikes. Within war no one could see who was firing what.

It doesn’t change what I described.

I think artillery smoke strike needs their cool-down time reduction, like to 90 seconds instead of 2 minutes.

I’d be perfectly fine with removing enemy indicators to be honest. Screw it. Let me walk blindly into enemy arty

For enemy side remove the indicator, its best when enemies don’t know artillery strike location to avoid walking around it and cause more issues. So yeah blindly walking on the strike area gives more importance to radio squad.

Currently radio squad is shit because bunch of stupid people spam artillery strike on the place filled with friendlies that disorient and get killed by enemies easily. Only on defense side of any game mode is best because you can destroy the enemy frontline before reaching the place.

Add back friendly fire…

Buddy, when artillery support was first introduced into the game, there was no queue and every 4 minutes on average you had 20 artillery fire circles on the map, and on top of that, allied artillery was dealing damage to team members.

Currently, the artillery is not that intense and has already received a few nerfs.

It’s not about nerfing artillery, it’s about adding quality of life. A little more transparency or for the sake of enemy strikes lack of. As well as separating things like supply drop so we’re not locked out of a “useful feature” which I personally don’t find useful at all some might.
