Artillery strike needs nerf

Hello everyone, i am new in the game. I have played for 3 days now and saw one major problem for me as infantry main player. Every time i go to cap (doesnt matter on game mode) I get deleted by arty strike. I think this can win entire game for opposing team. One good timed and placed arty strike can decide it.

Suggestions:

Nerf arty cooldown

Nerf the density of the artillery fire - Even if i go down, lie into crater, i will get absolutely smashed by the density of that fire.

Warning that arty is coming- for example- the radioman would have to shoot a flare to a place he wants a strike - players would have enough time to get away or get better cover.

Before main barrage starts you can see red circle on the map and few “test” shots will be made, so you have plenty of time to find cover.

I agree that cooldown must be increased for upgraded arty squad, 30s is too quick.

Arty certainly makes the head shake due to explosions perk valuable … I put it right up there with stamina

I think it needs a buff to be more realistic.

30 seconds between each artillery?

you know what’s more funnier? never and ever i have seen this upgrade from the ALPHA. and even during closed beta this “”“feature”"" was not a thing.

so someone really managed to put out the worse from the previous build.

No sorry, Artillery doesn’t need a nerf, it needs a buff like someone else already said. Learn the mechanics first, then you will see that artillery/radio operator aren’t a problem.

I hardly get kills with arty. Mainly get white x markers on my screen and that’s about it. On a good barrage I get 2-3 kills. Hardly OP.

Artillery is very situational. It can act as a deterrent ofc but you can still get away with being in an arty zone.

I don’t think it needs a nerf or a buff. Arty is only useful in the artillery squad. But you have to deal with having a small squad and you are stuck with rifles until you get the squad upgraded. Which means, your involvement in the objective is lower leading to lower EXP gained. It’s a fair trade for 30 second reload artillery.

I don’t think you are stuck with rifles … according to US upgrades Arty squad can have sniper, engineer, assaulter, bomber and even MG

Artillery every 30s is bad idea. Every smart radioman(or not good player) can camp somewhere on map and spam artillery every 30sec. I try on Invasion and Assault mode and my best score is 85 kills and 135 assist only with Artillery. In game look some people left game if he repeatly dead from this. Its very annoying for action players who like to play offensive style. Headshade(shell shock) is strong feature and AI not smart and dont look to map for artllery markers. Its my opinion for this. I think 3 minutes between Artillery is good balance.

I agree that this artillery is bull crap. I will endevour to use only my artillery squad from now on and smash the crap out of points until others too see that artillery is way to OP.

A rule of thumb expositoin on how good artillery is:

1/ Kill with bolt action tasks are 25-35 kills
2/ Kill with Mortar, SMG or LMG tasks are 40-60

3/ Kill with artillery are 10-16

That pretty much sums up how useless artillery generally is IMO.

its not about your kills, ontop of that im sure there wrong as when i get hit with artillery my entire squad get wipes out so theres 9 kills right there? Maybe its only counting player kills??? Anyway, its about area denial, making sure that enemys can not enter an area or fight effectivly in that area, when there is only one objective and pretty much only one way the enemy can come, two guys with 30 second artillery can stop any enemy from getting to the point…

Learn to control your squad then. Having radio squad as my main squad in combat I agree that arty is not currently weak, but the AI does currently avoid the strike automatically unless you leash them into the artillery strike (If the AI gets too far away from you they will run to you no matter the danger).

I play my radio squad with a sniper in it and usually get around the same amount of kills sniping as I do with the artillery strikes, and I have yet to unlock the semi-auto snipers, and only hit 3 out of 5 shots.

As for stopping the enemy from getting on point
yes and no, you can lock down an area pretty effectively with artillery, but it’s really only the final strike of the artillery that effectively kills anything. It is indiscriminate and stops ally’s from getting on point as much as enemies, so you can run in with a single soldier at a time and “ghost cap” the objective.

Also, consider using a tank. While artillery can damage them, they are mostly immune and even if a tank stays inside the entire artillery strike it will usually be undamaged.

And finally in new future Update was add new 2 Artillery units(Radiocommunication Squads). They have artillery with more damage and area. I was worried what happens with game if players use this new feature.
