Artillery - Improvement perk

So, Having just unlocked the artillery quick replenish perk.

30 seconds down from 4 minutes seems incredibly… Spammish.

Like 4 minutes was long, but even 3 minutes would be an improvement…

But I can now call in 8 strikes in tern for an older 1!..

It’s really nice. It makes up for the fact that the comm squad is no longer a real frontline fire team.
Can’t wait for more people to get it so Invasion looks like the Somme.

Wait, you get a artillery strike every 30 secs? because if thats true it seem extremely unbearable.

My question is that seems op but arty is avoidable (run or get inside) and Devs will likely reduce this buff. Like they have other perks etc.

I personally can’t wait to spam arty, till people hate it and Devs do something, wonder the buff for mortars then?

Yeah, If you unlock the improved arty slot on the Comms unit

How to top score in the laziest way ever:
1: Find a building with a secret attic.
2: Build a Czech hedgehog to get up
3: Put all your soldiers into the attic
4: Use the last soldier to disassemble the hedgehog
5: Call arty with 0 concern about being countered

I have been using it all the time now. I understand why it is 30 seconds and to me honestly its not too bad. depending on the map you are on. and what game mode you are playing. Most kills i have gotten with just the artillery strike alone in 92 in a single invasion game. but the following 2 games i may get a max of 15-25 due to its more city or a lot more buildings.

At a 4 Min cooldown without the perk it is 100% a useless squad and would never ever be played. The mortar team would out shine it by a long shot.

Honestly i see it more of a support role in the game. soften up the front line for your team mates to assult or have the enemies run for cover.

Ive been using it a while now and 30 seconds is way too fast for its cooldown. The strike lasts for roughly 20 seconds, meaning that arty isn’t being called in for roughly 10 seconds. Its really ridiculous. I’d prefer it to be at least a minute if not 1.5 minutes

I too think it is too spammy, but at the same time without it the signal battalion is completely useless.
Maybe add some different call-ins on separate cooldowns, so you don’t have lower cooldowns but have smoke, HE and maybe a rocket barrage for germans/russians that is less accurate but more deadly and Willie Pete for americans for long-ish area denial?

Having used it on the signals squad, I actually now thing it is a fair balance for a 5 man unit.
It’s not one of my favourite units to pick with an assaulter, 2 radio ops, an engineer and a trooper.

My initial fear was it would be 30 seconds for all squads, but luckily it does not seem so.

There are so many better options for squads once you remove the perk though.
Just off the top of my head I’d rather run troopers, assault, engineers and LMG/mortar rather than add radio squad, and each of those gets access to radio through squad upgrade. Event flamethrower/bomber squad would be more preferable than radio.
