Armored Train mode is batshit crazy

Having played a few Armored Train matches, I want to discuss about this mode as a whole.

The good things: This mode actually spices things up with a much slower pace gameplay considering Invasion mode have lots of snowball moments especially with the broken cap times along with idiot teammates not paying attention to the objective. This type of mode is where I do the craziest defender matches ever to the point that I have to use my full arsenal including T-34-85 and Il-2 Shturmovik due to the chaotic nature of this mode. Cleaning train wagons with PPSh is one hell of a new experience along with the intensive use of MGs near the train.

The bad things and issues: This is the worst mode to place rally points considering not much good places to place one near the train tracks with the far right and far left flanks are mostly open plus the stupid decision to reintroduce the nerf to rally points made this problem worse. Another issue I have is no way to kill players operating the train’s turrets even when my team seized the whole train but we can’t kill the operator inside the turrets unless he gets out which is annoying especially for tanks.

Conclusion: This mode has so much potential to spice things up and honestly I like this better than destruction and honestly would like to see more maps like Seelow Heights and I would like to see an invasion version of it along with a rework of the mode where there should be invasion maps that have more than 5 caps something like 7-8 caps with of course adjusted ticket allowance. Also make up your mind and not touch the rally points any longer with the unnecessary nerfs!

IMO the reinforcements for the attackers are a bit dumb. It makes it so it takes ages for the Germans to lose.
What I think should be there is a 5-ish minute timer when the defenders take the train. So the match ends when the defends are taken over the train

The people in the turrets can be killed!

By a tank shell, or an explosion pack. Atleast i have died to these

This mode is a great Idea but very disapointing. It should be as in the trailer. The train should go fast and respawn for all The german squads have to be inside the train. Russian troops could make obstacle or use TNT ( ingeneers)to stop/ destroy the train. Train could try to go faster and faster to cross a barricade,. The goal should be that germans cross the ennemy lines to bring reinforcements to the Battlefield. The turret should move 360 degrees. Perhaps there should be 2 of them.

I like it. Alot.

Played 1 match as Germans so far.

It lasted about 45 minutes.

The good: it was EPIC.

The bad: it was so epic as a match itself, that next matches will hardly reach the same level! XD

Suffice to say, it was maybe the narrowest possible victory, with Russians draining our tickets to 0 and starting to decimate us when the goal was just some 20m afar, and me managing to give the last decisive push by charging forward with my Panther while blasting away with HE and MG, then (once close enough) ditching the tank and boarding the train with the whole 5 men crew, so that our numbers were just enough for it to move forward that last step. It was a GLORIOUS gaming moment.

Btw 193 kills!

You can. Throw explosive pack and see the magic happens.

For the Germans I agree on this one. As for the Soviets it’s a different story.

Soldiers using guns on the train can be killed as usual with the explosion pack, tanks or antitank gunы, similar to tankers.
And engineers have a really special role in this mode! It is important for defenders to build anti-tank weapons and attackers can repair guns on the train!

Is there a chance that you will add possibility to build sandbags and ammo boxes on the train? I get it that adding more AA guns, AT guns and MG nest could be too powerful, but those two things could be very useful, especially sandbags on the first wagon.

played 3 games so far and they all resulted in the german team getting spawn camped by us at their starting point. I honestly don’t know how this game mode is supposed to go otherwise.

Could the German team use a larger gray zone (no go for Russians) around their main spawn(s)?

Despite 2 FG42 spammers on the enemy team, still won. Had figured out the best way to place rally points on this mod where it has to be far enough from the tracks so even if the train gets close, it doesn’t get dismantled by the game.

That mode is basically free XP for Soviets.
