Are we helping?

I’ll tell you what The Matrix is, it’s a state of being affected by the world (outside-in) instead of affecting the world (inside-out).

When you post, ask yourself this: What’s my intention with this, am I being constructive, or am I trying to boost myself at the expense of another.

The purpose of a forum is to connect to others who care about the same thing, have a ball, make suggestions, raise concerns, debate, and find solutions. Purpose is constructive and moves forward.

If you chase relevance in the forum, by taking every opportunity to complain without solutions, bicker, and boost your ego on others, I’m afraid you’re deep in the sheepdom of the matrix (by your own choice), just like millions of others all over the internet. Insecurity is destructive and bickers left and right.

Nobody needs to be a burn, but there’s a thin line between humor and insolence and if you find yourself struggling with this skill, refer back to the previous two paragraphs and be honest with yourself about whether you FEEL Purpose vs Insecurity (which you actually have no reason to feel) before you DO constructive vs destructive. We’re all human and nobody’s perfect, but c’mon, it’s working towards it that counts.

It’s this simple

sgt_KilLErpOny_CBT suggests something.

I have a few choices of types of possible responses

  1. I agree
  2. I agree to an extent, but maybe this is how we can tweak that Idea a bit
  3. My concern with that is this, so maybe…
  4. Fuck your aunty, you moron…

We can iterate on 1,2,3 and persist till we get to a conclusion, hell we can even throw in a bunch of jokes in between, or take a timeout when we get frustrated and come back later.

OR, we can drop number 4 in there at every opportunity.

Ask yourself this when you’re in a thread, is this helpful to the devs, will they find inspiration or see a trend towards a solution here, OR are they gonna see a slugfest and move right along, just because I chose to try and boost my ego by throwing in number 4 at every opportunity. I promise you, if it’s the latter, you’re gonna find yourself needing to do that more and more. This stuff is really not that esoteric but quite logical actually, because quite frankly if it’s a bicker fest, it becomes way too noisy and overwhelming and unpleasant to pay attention to.
Then you’ve taken away your own voice and the power of the forums, complaining more and more to no avail while you actually can’t blame the devs for not paying attention anymore or just referring back to it for comedy because it became so chaotic one can only cope by laughing.
Now if you want to say but “they don’t give a shit, they screwing us” ask yourself how many times have we iterated on that 1,2,3 first. And if objectively you feel we have, yes then screw it… but have we?

Toxic positivity is a thing too, where we don’t dare talk about a problem or we become the problem and the powers-that-be talk positive but f us over constantly because they don’t actually FEEL their purpose - those places exist but that doesn’t seem the case with this forum. If you find yourself in one of those places (whether work, forums, relationships), and you’ve absolutely tried but still believe it can’t change, well then get the hell out as soon as possible.

Let’s not screw it up by choosing to bicker at every chance, let’s check our intent before we get into the details. If you’re smart enough to read this, you’re awesome enough to solve problems!

This. OP fails to grasp the purpose of this place.

there are too many bug reports, topics with good ideas, discussions that analyze the state of the game, that are promptly ignored or are against the point of view of the developers, see what they have done with the rework of the bronze orders, the players ask from months of getting silver orders as well as bronze orders just by playing, and the developers just fooled around, and after the injury even insult asked the community for new ideas to get silver orders as if the remaining months of advice on that before the change did not exist, so as he said @philipp306

Well actually I have participated in many betas and MMO’s and by far it seems that Darkflow listens to their community more than most.

Now with that said they don’t always get things right at the start but they are quick to make adjustments. So yes I would say for the most part the suggestions are helpful …

I get what you’re saying, but then it becomes infighting soon enough after a new implementation and we lose the power of pushing forward with a proper solution and takes away the power to say No, this is not yet what we asked for.

we got a new mod?

Funny one aren’t you :joy: I doubt I’d last long as a mod before od’ing on headache pills.
Just someone who wanted to share a few thoughts on seeing the forest from the trees.
Have fun :v:

sorry but i continue shove my head in my own arse and keep shouting… thats what we do in these forums…

sorry, i couldn’t resist.

nothing personal xd

dunno, haven’t tried yet.

not that i’m qualified either way tbh ( nor that i want to become one ).

which, speaking seriously, it goes alot further than that. it’s not like would change something, as people have their own opinions and act like they want most of the time.

people can, and have the rights to suggesting stuff that they want. even if they might not be particularly interestring or really " needed ".

it’s not that depends if it’s really needed for devs either way. they are the one in charge, and act their own way ( as we see ) and take suggestions from the community.

not always transparent, but i’m glad they listen.

so it’s up to them, not us :upside_down_face:

( it has been like this for one year, and i can confidently say, it did worked  )

 Well, long as you guys try shouting in the same general direction not 50 different ones. Makes the sound that much stronger.

See that’s what I’m saying, like you said

Who’s the community? Not you? Don’t ever sell yourselves short, like I said: Be awesome!

Now I’ve probably spend way too much time round these parts the last few days, just now somebody really mistakes me for a mod. :joy: I’m out for now. :v:

not really.

i do make lots of suggestions, lots of comments, and for the most part, quite active due to dead time that i have usually in my days. but no.

i’m not the community. community is made by people. that can have different or similar opinions

everyone is awesome at it’s own way ( i think )

you just joined 3 days ago. wdym

n-not really.

i was being sarcastic and just gaved a thought about NOT restricting stuff. but ok.
