Just looking back on my knowledge with the editor and the types of content the community made, what do we all think can be added or changed to flesh this mode out more for custom games?
I know it’s WW1 but I dont see it being to difficult or unrealistic to add weapons like the LEE-Speed Rifle (sport version of LEE Metford rifle) or other iconic weapons that were used during WW1 as long as it was in the games assets.
Or for a more unhistorical side of things:
Springfield 1903 rifles
1911’s
Winchester 1912’s
Gewher 98 rifles
Etc.
With a few other things like adding a “squad” like a medic.
It think it would be cool seeing these new weapons as either class specific or a select few have a few weapons in the farthest objective zone for the alternate rifles, similar to how they have the AT guns scattered about. Also seeing medics throw down boxes and help just feels so right for WW1 era.

I think it should be added to main game. The solo squad works better for this type of fight…then gets new items to TT like the Mark I…add biplanes and remove the constant HE/gas spam and AI laser focus…this would be a fun addition. We already have WWI weapons anyways.

I do think that that would be beneficial to the game, we’ve already got some pre-existing WW1 equipment way before this event as it is. Even if it’s not a squad mode it could be added to something within the settings for mode.
That way we’d have the ability to train, going to squads, or this mode. That’ll also make it a lot easier to add other pieces of iconic equipment to the already existing base game.
But I still wonder how far it can be pushed within the limitations of enlisted. I did a fair amount of work with zombie maps, but I’d really love to pick this one apart and make my own custom version that’s to me “The most superior version of this mode”. In other words taking this mode and pushing it to its limits with new class types, new weapons, and a little bit more cover especially with sandbags near trenches. Plus each side would have an ammo box on the first defence objective, I would also make this box indestructible and have an infinite use.
On top of having a medic that can throw down a medic box and use smoke grenades, And maybe a few more small buildings.

WWI definitely falls within “enlisting”…squad mode would be hectic here, AI soldiers would get mowed down…the one man squad changes the way one plays as you can’t be too aggressive.

Ha… it was already done in customs.
Exactly, that’s why I thought of a way that improves and attempts to refine.
As I said, medic class soldier same as everyone else, but with a weapon of his own and a smoke grenade. Plus a ammo box very scarcely placed and some sandbags in smart positions to encourage stopping and taking the shot in cover with what little that was during the war. I’d place those higher up about a foot or so to make the cover more ridged and dangerous to approach. Not all over the trenches just in a few locations spread out that could help both sides in a pinch. Also, destroyed tanks those would add cover in more open areas. The goal is to make the environment work twords the reality of the real life battlefield, increasing immersion and adding value to a already great mode.
This years? That was fast. Must be readily available
now the search begins.
Meaning that this concept was already done by the community… there has been a ww1 mod that pops up in custom games ever so often when i check it out.
Ah, well I still think the events concept would be interesting to see. Maybe we will find the raw map data, I’m hoping. Usually we see the new additions to the customs.

Given that the official April Fool’s Day World War I event campaign is named “Soldier Tier 0 Campaign,” the developers will likely seamlessly integrate the World War I and World War II campaign modes in the future. This is because the current soldier weapon tech tree and event rewards contain a large number of light weapons from the World War I era, so officially transforming the Tier 0 event campaign into a historical campaign would not be difficult; the developers only need to expand the existing event map and complete the weapon tech tree.
