Appropriately buff the Flamethrower troops

Flamethrower infantry used to be very powerful in the game, but they have become extremely weak after being nerfed in an update especially at high BR. The recent Halloween event provided us with a “powerful” flamethrower squad. I used it in the American at BR 5 and found it almost impossible to kill enemies. The best-case scenario was setting some enemies on fire and earning a few assist points. I believe the damage and flame range of flamethrower troops may need a moderate increase to prevent this class from being abandoned by high BR players. Alternatively, allowing flamethrower troops to have a “post-death effect” similar to the flamethrower zombies or explosive zombies could make them slightly more useful than they are now.

Well, considering that an average WW2 flamethrower flame is around 1,800 degrees (F), It should be a one shot kill weapon. That is the roughly the same temperature that deceased bodies are cremated. There should be zero chance that someone who is being torched in the game should be returning fire, or putting the fire out for that matter.

Euthy said flamethrowers will get a buff at some point, so it’s already been forwarded and approved. I do support the topic though.

and the chance of setting the ground on fire would be about zero, i am all for it being a one hit kill if they remove the ability to set the map on fire and shoot through walls.

yes i know how flame throwers work they are more like a flaming super soaker with jellied fuel than a butane torch. but that also take more time and effort than waving it around to set the world on fire.

my bad they do explode rarely but mostly shrapnel that only manages to kill the operator.

How is that useful for you? If anything, it helps the enemy because it increases chance of friendly fire.

I think the biggest problem for flame thower isnt exactly the damage or range but the inconsitancy in hiting the targets in its wake.

Before the flamethrowers got nerfed into the ground they could reasonably consistant lite everyone /most targets in a room on fire with just a single sweep.

But ever since it was nerfed now out of 10 targets maybe 3 will catch fire unless you do a really slow sweep but that one takes to much time that you simply dont have when breaching a room.

Apparently there were people who complained about flamethowers beeing able to instantly lite everyone on fire by doing a 360 noscope spin but I personally have never seen that behavoir so I believe they were more or less just making that one up.
But ever since the nerfes to the flamer and changes to the AI behavior (when they are on fire) flamers have been in a sad state.
