Brief History:

5_ranger_battalion
The 5th Ranger Battalion was activated on 1 September 1943 at Camp Forrest, Tennessee. During the Battle of Normandy, the battalion landed on Omaha Beach. Also took part in the battle of Brest, Battle of the bulge & the Hurtgen Forest.

The outfit was deactivated 22 October 1945 at Camp Myles Standish, Massachusetts.

The Vehicle:

well… it exists already and it’s a premium for the soviets.

standard in line to be with other nations loadouts, and, still makes sense within the historical regiment it self.

Appearance:

truth be told, the rangers didn’t had unique uniforms unlike other branches.
or for example, different camouflage like in the german army.

Though it would be cool to give the historical accurate patch over the M41 & M43. like back in the normandy closed beta and alpha:

but that’s another suggestion for another time.

so yeah, it would be about time to introduce the M3a1 for US.

the M3 scout car it’s more of rider 2.0 material imo.

cause it was used for reconnaissance instead of “AFV” / Personell carrier.

Id argue the M3 fits better as APC while more regular cars like jeeps and kubelwagens are more Rider material

The Soviets used lend lease M3s in that role

M3A1 half-track should really be in the tech tree for US.

Its only utility is occupying space in a hangar. A standard truck is no less effective—and perhaps even superior—due to its more compact size.

not at all.

most of my premium APC are placed at the bottom because of the special slot.

which on top, you get xp bonuses.

with that being said, i’d rather for it to be an event vehicle.
cause the premium buffallo is already there and works for it’s intended purpouse while being generally an improvement with a feature behind.

it can go on water

and technically, among the first one to have AI using the side turrets on their own.
but that is being implemented onto others as well.

Ah… oh… as a Sovietmain, I sometimes forget that the game has water somewhere other than in the devs answers to questions.

this game does not have too much water lol.

and it is rather a gimmick. but, it can be sometimes useful in the pacific.

or for example, cross rivers in normandy.

Took it into practice mode. Well, compared to the M3A1, it looks like a straight-up fun thing…

yeah, it is an upgrade.

beside the low speed, this thing can cover with the machineguns a wider area.

as for it’s accuracy, kinda meh on the longer rangers. but you can control them.

i can see why it was made into a premium.

but anyway, as far this suggestion goes, i provided options for people to vote.

and hopefully, the m3a1 will be either a prem or in the TT. ( as either should )

honestly though, i’d rather have the SU 57 / T48:

but APC with cannons are understandably, somewhat of a problem and unpopular.

If APCs had cannons instead of these useless 12mm machine guns that overheat in 3 seconds, they would be much more effective in the current meta. Right now, a bike with a PTRS is the only vehicle in my setup.

It would kind of have to be Premium as people alresdy have paid for them in thier factions.

I’ve been playing a while how come I don’t remember the M3 GMC being in the pacific campaign.

not in the base game at least, only in the editor.

which, not much is left beside the name today.

We need more APCs and it’s also a crime the M3 GMC is not in the game because it was a stop gap for the stop gap, but I definitely want the M3A1 for the U.S great/Britain tree but the lend least M3A1 should remain a premium only because Russia should be inconvenienced at every turn because managed democracy demands communists must suffer.
