This Armory event is honestly a breath of fresh air and instead of usually stressing/being angry at the matchmaker one can finally just play the game and receive some nice things (unfortunately, just 1 event weapon for me so far, hoping to at least get 1 of each).
At the same time War Thunder is celebrating its 10th anniversary with an event of its own and some nice additions like Sturmtiger and Maus (again) - so I thought about reinstalling the game and trying to get something there.
But as always WT seems to require so much time to get anything of interest, so I wonder if any Enlisted players are trying to play/grind both?
And if it’s even worth trying for an average/bad WT player who doesn’t have a WT PhD and just points and shoots.
I do play war thunder, but very rarely. Personally i cannot manage to grind both games, since i can barely manage to grind a single campaign in enlisted only. Although its definetly worth trying to get special rewards, as long as they are limited. Good luck!
There’s definitely a lot of good reasons to try out the WT 10th anniversary event…you can grind the sturmtiger (6 grinds of 2 days each (35,000 pts scored per 2 day window)…the same way previous event rewards have behaved); you can start researching the Maus and then you can keep it (you just need 1 RP into the Maus, you don’t have to finish resarching it during the event) , and they’ve got a separate “play and accumulate points” event that gives you premium vehicles (they’re not super impressive, but they are rare).
You get the first vehicle for 5000 pts, second at 25k, third at 50k, and then it’s intervals of 100k for each of the following vehicles. Also, with the 50% discount, there’s a lot of reasonable vehicle deals depending on what nation and style (land/air/sea) you prefer. Having said that, IMO the best deals are on the 180 and 365 day premium acct memberships, which are also 50% off in GE at this time.
I’ve spent the past several months back in WT…and something finally clicked for me that made it a little less grindy (unfortunately it involved some spreadsheets and me working out scenarios on how to maximize my rewards vs my play time…yes I’m a nerd). I also stay the %$%$ away from high tier (anything over Rank V) because the sweat fest is off the freaking charts. People who literally sit in 1 spot for 25 minutes until they get CAS’ed or counter-sniped…I may try high tier eventually, but right now I’m just grinding all the rest of it up to that point.
It’s really disappointing, because I used to love playing Enlisted and absolutely hate playing WT. These days, I do NOT look forward to playing Enlisted as much as I used to, and that’s something I didn’t expect to happen (the current event being an exception - it’s been a blast). WT still cranks my gears on occasion, but I’ve embraced the mantra of just Returning to Hangar, switching nations, and trying again.
