Anti-Infantry mines is cancer

Anti-infantry mines are toxic. They are almost invisible. They require no skill to use. They are very frustrating for new players (and not for them only).

Very soon almost everyone will spam mines all over the capture point. Change my mind if I’m wrong.

Honestly, I think I run into one person who really uses them alot 1 per 100 matches or so.

And while it might take no skill to put them anywhere, it takes considerable skill to know the ingress points or likely ones (actually that is more map experience than skill really) .

I use them, infrequently, and usually only when outnumbered as they are a great force multiplier.

They are also very useful when you are attacking or defending on Destruction as it can buy you a little more time.

End of the day, anything spammed can be considered cancer. Nominally speaking the matches where that actually happens (at least to me) is few and far between enough that I don’t see it as a real problem.

I run at such matches at least every 10-15 games. And it becomes very annoying. And I’m sure in the nearest future this situation will become unbearable. But of course, not all maps and points are suitable for mine spam, and one will only face this while attacking.

It’s easily avoidable when you don’t just “WAAAAAGH!” ahead with complete disregard to your own safety

Enlisted is VERY unrealistic, but booby traps were very common historically.

Just need to clear buildings more cautiously, “à la” Red Orchestra style, instead of a more arcade battlefield style.

Not many ppl use them tbh, thought…

À la wakba.

Ahah, so true.

It’s what Usa troops did in Afghanistan:
“Can we be certain this building on that hilltop is safe to enter?”

I have a few complaints about it, at least I think it should be more real
It’s ridiculous that an anti-personnel mine could be buried in concrete anyway, and if it’s hard ground, it shouldn’t be.
It should also be easier to detonate with explosives, or a quicker way to remove.
More than once I’ve seen the room full of anti-personnel mines, but I can only carefully fire the gun, clearing them one by one, it’s a waste of time and risky, and I’ve tried using grenades, to no avail.
Therefore, no matter whether the anti-personnel mines are successfully bombed, they can successfully contain the enemy. Even if the enemy finds it, it can only be cleared by firing one by one.
Honestly, I think it’s a little unfair

When there are seven or eight anti-personnel mines in the room, you will have to stop and clear them manually.
It doesn’t help that you see them, because their location can’t be bypassed a lot of the time.
You have to stop, keep your distance, shoot them
Then its purpose has been achieved, it has successfully blocked you, forced you to shoot to reveal your position, and put yourself in a dangerous situation

And it’s absolutely fine, it’s a defense tool. Even if I don’t use them, I respect the crafty ppl who does and subsequently hamper my onslaught. If I have to be careful, it means my opponent plays well.

And in doubt… I lob bombs inside

I think there should be a more efficient way to clear them than just shooting them, explosives should be able to detonate them

That’s why I lob in bombs!

Explosives DOES clear them out!

(Tnt does, at the very least)

Comprehensive list of where I see AP mines:

Outside a door

On top of a rally point

That’s the list. It’s pretty brainless low-risk low-skill gameplay.
If we want to balance them, make the user susceptible to their own mines.

atleast you have to earn them, and you would not believe where i make kills with them.
Always brings a little Smile, try them
Me:
Every Soldier have 1 Mine and i wish there would be Mine Pouches for Minefields x)
