So I had an idea regarding being put into teams that are a lot weaker than the enemy:
What if match rewards are scaled by match time and percentage of contribution of your team. In maybe more understandable terms:
Each match rewards points equal to how long it lasted. These points are equal in both teams.
At the end of the match these points are distributed to players based on the percentage of points they have compared to all of the points of the team combined. These points then are translated into xp and silver earned.
This would mean if you are put into a very weak team you are still going to get points as easily as in fair matches and not wasting your time in that regard.
Think this would also be a nicer method of discurraging leaving, rather than by doing it by punishment.
Tbh I am not sure this would be an amazing system, as I just had that idea, but I wanted to share it anyways in case it is.
Well, the problem is that desertion is more rewarded than staying in matches.
Especially if you are at the same point of the game as me, where you simply do not care about exps anymore.
The only other penalty is -1 point to ranking system which is completely irrelevant.
And what is plus about desertion? Your desertion will not count as a loss in your stats.
I believe this aspect should definitely change. And desertion should count as loss in your stats.
There are a lot of people for whom this means a lot, even though the stats are literally non-public.
It’s absolutely unhealthy that it’s now more profitable to leave matches than to stay in them. Especially for veteran players, who most often have the bigger impact on the outcome of the battle.
I just started playing the game a few days ago but I never leave the match even if my team is loosing. Anyone who does that should have some sort of punishment. Repeat sore losers should be ejected from the servers for non participation
Well punishing doesn’t work as well as fixing the problem, I think if we added a matchmaking penalty for quitters they’d just stop playing. Either match quitter v quitter or give the a delay cuz they left. Don’t like those cuz I’d rather just fix the problem
I think your probably right. I was playing a match just a few mins ago and four sore losers just dipped out on the team. However the developers decide to approach the issue would be fine by me. There needs to be some type of deterrent in place though
I am not sure how easy it is to “just fix the problem”. Time to find a match vs fairness of the match is always a difficult thing to balance I think and just gets more complicated when equipment has also to be balanced against each other at the same time.
Regarding the delay: Having quitters not be able to join matches till the one they left is over could make sense maybe? It would mean they’d waste the same amount of time either way.
