AVT40 is at the level of the unerfed SVT not a great improvement, considering that the SVT38 full star still remains superior in terms of use and reliability, I am very disappointed with the Russian SF the more the level of the weapon is high and the more it seems a “one step back”

I see your point now, and even though seeing FG42s would bother me less than seeing MKb 42, the MKb 42 is not more of a stretch than the FG42.
Quite the enlightening video, never new it could be that effective.
Regarding what it’s capable of, I never said otherwise, but my point was fully upgrading as much AVT than I have fully upgraded SVTs wasn’t worth it compared to its stats, in comparison the gap between a G43 and a FG42 is way bigger, making it worth it.
After some reflection, Darkflow really need to keep those weapons (AVT, AVS, FG42 I and II) out of the Tooper class weapon pool. I think they should put them in full auto by default and give them as one of the starting weapon for the Gunner class.
I think it would make more sense, be more balanced and be more on the historical side of thing and prevent dumb decision like having the Breda Mod.30 in Normandy and in Stalingrad (the last one is definitely the worst imo). And if it means I don’t get to unlock new weapons for the trooper class, don’t mind honestly.
I mean yeah technically you’re right, like a spoon is deadlier in the hands of a Navy Seal than a Glock 18 in a toddler’'s hands.
A weapon that need to be in experienced hands to be efficient is still worse than one that could be deadly by anyone with a pulse, and we all now the the standard skill level of the Enlisted player base is not that high.
I changed my stance on the AVT since I saw some gameplay by someone with some experience with it.
It’s indeed not as useless as I thought previously. However I still don’t think it come anywhere close to the FG42 and I still don’t think it’s worth replacing all my fully upgraded SVTs by fully upgraded AVTs.
I said it in an other comment but I think those weapons (AVT, AVS, FG42s) should be switched to full auto by default and be the first Gunner class weapons, it would make way more sense regarding balance and historical accuracy.
actually i kind of have to concede on this one. they more than doubled the AVT’s horizontal recoil in stalingrad, so its not nearly as controlable as in the video, which was in berlin
cost wise, the AVT’s are definetly less effective. but if you just look at it purely from a performance POV (which is generally what i do personally when i compare weapons) there is a significant advantage

It’s worth it for one single very important point: the AVT does not suffer from that stupid rof cap nerf DF gave to all semis making them slow firing. You can use the AVT, never use the full auto function, but double tap in semi all the time. This double tap playstyle makes the avt (or avs) quite fearsome, avs is deadly in Moscow because of that.
Oh I know, same thing for the FG42, it’s just that I still don’t find it worth it because of how expensive it is to buy and upgrade, especially if you don’t have a premium account.
