so it’s not truee that engy cannot be used for assaults.
an example is, lay some ammoboxes near objectives, lay down barded wire in doors/windows that faces the enemy spawn, so that they will have somewhat of an harder time to get to the objective.
yeah, I love “dressing up” my guys lol I feel like a girl, dressing up dolls, but whatever lol
Your setup is pretty mixed, I’d get more medkits, and just load up on survival. I find mines only get in the way, when you are panickly switching weapons, in middle of shootout, so I keep my loads clean.
There are so many issues with the solo mode that it’s easier to list what does work well. Which is mostly just the “there are no dumb bot squads”. Pretty much everything else is broken to some extent.
This is one of such issues, but it’s probably one of the smaller ones. You can even start fixing it yourself - by taking at least some engineers and leading by example.
Solo mode is an after thought in Enlisted and will always be last in priorities. The game seems to be designed around the SQUAD mode and I’m not sure why people are even here playing the solo mode with so many games out there designed exclusively for that style of play.
People are playing solo mode because bot squads still don’t work and don’t do anything after four years of development. It probably makes sense to just quit, but they don’t want to give up on the game. Same as squad players who don’t want to give up on a broken feature that doesn’t work and doesn’t do anything.
Personally I think it would be fatal for the game if they won’t make solo mode work at least on par with squads, but what do I know.
I personally like the AI; although, it does need some improvement and they are working to do that. I have played games where AI is very good and it always creates a bad experience for players as players want to play against other players for the most part. Very few players are satisfied when they get gunned down by a better AI.
The way I see it… AI is just filler and does a good job of representing poor skilled players. It’s there to give you something to shoot at, environmental, make the battle grander, and there to be used. They are an extra life and a way to give the player increased functionality and more things to control.
Man… Just thinking back, I was so pissed when spending lots of time getting in a good position and gunned down by super AI… I hated that.
Trust me, you can tweak AI to be whatever you want it to be. Like they can one shot you from a mile away, perfect headshot every time, etc. It would be superhuman, in every way.
BUT it would pwn human players, see? That’s why it’s always about a balance, a delicate balance, between AI being good enough, and players being happy with it.
It’s not about their lethality. They are just uninteresting to face, uninteresting to lead, they break immersion by acting like dumb bots. Most importantly, for me at least, they also don’t mesh well with players.
Personally I’d rather face only humans or only bots. I was willing to try out what developers have in mind, but it looks like they don’t have anything. Nothing that works at least. Unfortunately that also includes the solo mode which could have been a refuge for those who want traditional gameplay.
Ok, this is going more and more off topic now, I think I’ll shut up now.
