Binoculars are only useful when used with tanks, that’s not an opinion that’s a fact. For infantry their only use is by snipers and mortars who don’t wanna leave the greyzone, and the 5 second increase in mark duration isn’t enough to make up for their lack of usefulness.
Tanks are currently the only way binoculars see an actual practical application, they’re good for spotting enemy tanks and help make roof mounted MGs worth risking your life to use. There’s no point in just letting an item as inconsequential as binoculars rot away as wasted code.

My main problem is with the IS-2 1944, you used to be able to use the DSHK and DT with the binos between shots, but without the binos it’s much harder to justify sticking your head out of the hatch to use the DSHK. It’s the main reason I stopped using the IS-2

Honestly Ive been feeling it the most in the KV-2, those long reloads where I wish I could pop my head out to scout instead of just sitting there feeling a little silly.
yeah its dumb to be removed from ANY tank. I mean…thats the main use for that item. and even then its rarely thought about
