Allow paratroopers to shoot downward with their weapons at low altitude

The logic is straightforward. When parachuting, only your extra gear goes into the drop crate; your primary weapon remains strapped to your front, and the parachute harness is secured to your body. You don’t need to grip the harness with both hands the entire descent, leaving you completely defenseless mid-air. Worse still, if an enemy spots you from the ground, you stand no chance of fighting back.
The parachute descent speed has been heavily nerfed, making the drop process extremely slow. If you’re spotted, it’s just like the disastrous Market Garden operation all over again.

That’s why I suggest letting paratroopers fire their weapons downward while airborne to defend themselves. Otherwise, the AI on the ground can instantly spin 180 degrees and bash you to death with gunstocks the second you land, leaving you no room to react.

Sigh, I always think the old days were way better.
Back then, paratroopers didn’t have such glacial descent speeds. I loved queueing up with three friends as paratroopers, taking turns jumping. We’d drop from high altitude and capture objectives quickly.
Nowadays, parachutists are just sitting ducks most of the time. Players can deploy their chutes safely at 200 meters, but AI troopers are forced to open their parachutes at 300 meters right away.
