Allow Multiple Battle Rating Presets per Faction in “Join Any Army”

Right now, Join Any Army works by checking which matches need players the most. If a match has very few players, the system will place you there. The BR you play is determined by your active preset for that faction.

The limitation is that each faction can only have one preset active at a time. This means that if you want to sometimes play a lower BR match for a slower, tactical game, and other times a higher BR for something more dynamic, you have to manually switch presets every time.

It would be great if Join Any Army allowed multiple presets per faction. Players could mark several presets as “allowed,” and the matchmaking system would still place them where players are needed most, but could pick any of the allowed presets for that faction.

Example setup

A player could configure their allowed presets like this:

  • Germany: BR I, III, V enabled
  • USA: BR IV–V enabled
  • Japan: BR I–II enabled
  • URSS: BR III enabled

With this configuration, the system will still place you in the match that needs players most. The BR is automatically chosen from your allowed presets for that faction, so you’ll never end up in a preset you didn’t select. All other matchmaking rules stay the same, the only difference is that the pool of presets you can play with is now bigger.

This setup lets players enjoy a mix of slower, tactical matches and faster, high-BR action without manually switching presets or breaking matchmaking.

This wouldn’t let players pick the BR manually, the system still decides, but it gives more variety without breaking matchmaking or forcing anyone to change how they play.

Optionally, the XP/credit bonus could scale slightly depending on how many presets are allowed, rewarding flexibility.
