Trying to place fortifications, especially indoors, and in the middle of firefights can be beyond tricky. While being able to freely place structures should obviously still remain an option, an additional option (and button to change between the two) should be added.
This would allow for:
- Sandbags to be snapped together to form taller walls if snapped to the top, as well as smoother sides if snapped to the sides. If the sandbag were to be pointed towards the bottom of another sandbag, it would make it 2 tall, but with a window.
- Allow for snapping into windows, the first piece will automatically fit its dimensions into the window, and can use the first suggestion for additional height, or a gun-port/ window.
- MG nests could also be snapped into windows and into trenches (allowing for fortified MGs in what would otherwise be open ground). An additional sandbag could be then added to the top creating a gun-port.
- AT Guns could be fortified on the sides with sandbags, this would remove its ability to be marched forward, but would greatly increase its resistance and protection for operators.
- Czech Hedgehogs when snapped into a trench could be changed into a bridge/ cover of some kind. Currently, the use of Czech Hedgehogs and AT mines is overshadowed by simply digging a wide trench that tanks then get stuck in. Adding this option gives a way to fix that, and if space below is still large enough, it would make good cover for crouched infantry, as if it has the properties of the Hedgehog, it would be immune to blasts. Therefore giving a counter to explosives like tank shells, artillery, mortars, and aircraft.
Ultimately it would open up more fortification opportunities, as well as speeding up how quickly they can be put down, as you wouldn’t need to worry so much about getting the right angle.
