Unfortunately, almost every single tank in the tech tree for the USA, in addition to the IS-2 (1944) for the Soviet Union, either lacks, or has lost the ability to use binoculars & personal weapons when positioning the commander outside of the commander’s hatch. Not only is this totally unrealistic and historically inaccurate to suggest these vehicles lack the accommodations for this essential feature, but it also makes the gameplay balance totally unfair as well. If I’m not mistaken, pretty much every German tank allows the commander access to both of these features - this makes them so much better because not only will you have more ease to defend your tank from incoming infantry assaults, but you can spot targets in the distance with binoculars and fire the MG / Main Gun of the tank while zoomed in. I use this to great effect with the German tanks. There is absolutely no reason an M26 Pershing should not have the same abilities. In fact, every tank that gives access to peep your head out of the commanders hatch should have this ability, especially if you can also fire a top mounted MG as well.
