APC drivers being forced to use SMGs in BR 5 is an issue, since they are always at a huge disadvantage compared to regular soldiers who can use ARs or SF weapons. To finally make them more than just drivers that you can’t remove from event or premium squads, so they should be allowed to use ARs.
I remember giving my tank crew STGs back in the days. Was fun.
Sure it makes sense for crew members to have small SMGs, since space is important - but lets be honest, this limitation is quite arbitrary anyways.
A Drum Thompson is probably both heavier and bigger than a STG.
Also, unless the devs finally add a BR5 Axis Sumoi, we wont have a BR5 SMG.
you can give your tank crew the suppressed erma smg and that thing is longer than most rifles
