The BAR was historically used as more of an automatic rifle used for covering fire as in most infantry squad composition it was used to sub the m1919, it was a shoe horned mg and isn’t a assault rifle and just wouldn’t make sense for the assault engineers to use that, I’d make a bigger suggestion of all assault engineers to use smg’s because the German assault engineers historically used mostly mp40’s and some flamethrowers, same with Russian assault engineers and sappers, they used ppsh’s why not let them be more useful in all br’s?
And with the m1919a4 could be used in a squad it makes no sense to make the bar available for assaulters as an assault rifle, how would a 20 round 30-6 available for 4 people (if it was made into an assault rifle and useable for assaulted squads) in br3??? What would even replace it in the mg spot for br3
