so i tried the d-day campaign as the americans, and im kind of suprised how we have to fight nigh invulnerable tanks. im aiming at the supposed weakspots using the xray cam, and i noticed how, like that 8 wheeler german tank, it takes me 5 direct hits on one of its ammoracks to set it off. i think thats just too much. watching it slowly moving from yellow to orange to red with each shot, if you are lucky enough to be able to shoot t the same spot over and over, its tedious and frustrating. ive been one-shotted multiple times now cause appearently its within balance that a level 2 tank is fighting level 8 tanks from the get go. its already bad enough you put up the t-60 against pay2win panzer 38’s. there must be a better balance than this. i dont mind waiting a minute longer as long as it means im fighting players within my level reach.
There is ammoracking. It just seems to be a bit inconsistant
Hmmm I don’t think you quite understand how this works … there no such things as a level 2 tank and a level 8 tank.
From your description it sounds like you were using an M5_Stuart to take out a German Puma. Yeah it’s possible but it it doesn’t happen often. Stuart is just less armored and it’s 37mm gun has trouble penetrating the Pumas armor.
Tanks in this game are supposed to be modeled after their historical counterparts. But it is still beta and I believe the devs are still working on some of the armor models.
Just use your stuart to support your teams infantry and if a puma shows up then hide and let the infantry deal with the Puma. Or if you can manage to flank him you might get lucky and take him out…
Thats the problem. The shot lands inconsistently with where i aim at. I know how to use the xray cam and every shot has a different location even if you compensate. I can deal with the puma and panzer 3’s. And stuarts armor is good enough. Atleast frontal hull the puma has problem penetrating. But i just cant deal with how certain parts of enemy tanks take a multitude of shots before damaged. Cant they just copy/paste warthunder models? Its the same engine no?
Honestly is mainly because the M5A1 suck massively, use it only like a really mobile pilebox because the 37mm is just useless, the HE seems to deal less damage than a frag grenade and the AP is a dart, you need to be on the move constantly to have a small chance to survive and don’t engage any tank from the front, not even Puma atm.
When shouting at a tank, aim for the engine, it will catch fire quickly and people tend to panic and leave their tank.
But the M8 and M4A2 are pretty good against tank and infantry.
the M8 has no armor and you will lose half of your crew member quickly because your TC can’t hide in the turret and he is automatically replaced by the loader.
The M4A2 is impervious to the Puma and Pz III from the front.
and the M4A3E2 Jumbo is almost invincible in Tank vs Tank combat but is really slow and quite vulnerable to infantry because of that.
Those last 3 have an excellent 75mm HE that can one shot a Puma from the side and destroy tracks of other tanks. The HEAT of the M8 is pretty descent and do a small amount of blast dammage so it can be used against infantry in an emergency. and the AP of the M3 gun is pretty descent against most tanks atm, but you still need to aim for flat part but post pen effect are way better than the 37mm.
So my advice is don’t use tanks until you unlock better ones or change your play style.
Avoid it and let your team take care of it. Spot it for your team and identify the threat in the chat.
I noticed that in this game people tend to attack everything they see regardless if they are able to defeat it or not. Honestly the number of people running in front of my Jumbo to throw a FRAG, not an explosive pack just a hand grenade, at my upper front plate is baffling…
No, it’s my understanding that the modeled data is used but the engine is different or different enough so that you cant take one complete model from WT and move it into Enlisted without significant changes.
So yes the model data can be reused but not the entire model.
German player here, I can confirm I’ve not to my knowledge ever been ammo racked by a Stuart, M8 Scott/Sherman? Sure. But never a Stuart, thats not to say the Stuart is unusable however as the APCR rounds can frontally penetrate anything smaller than a Pz IV, though as most Pz IV’s you’ll run into are the J variant you can take advantage of their 5.7 degree rotation to avoid them or flank, but it’s going to be a rough matchup. That being said however the way I’ve mostly died to Stuarts is when they target my gunner, since the lack of any explosive mass makes one shots unlikely most Stuart’s I’ve come across leverage their higher rate of fire to keep shooting out my gunners before I can make a reaction shot, and after 3-5 gunner kills thats the entire tank depleted.
Not sure if this is of any use to you as it’s just my own observations of how I’ve been beaten by Stuarts dispite using a Pz III.
ive just tested it out. i couldnt ammorack the puma. after 5 shots through its ammorack, it didnt do nothing. then another puma 1 shots me, through my ammorack. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BIAS! why do i need to shoot his ammorack DIRECTLY 5 times! and even then it does nothing, while my stuart gets 1 shotted with almost every shot? this is some grave inbalance here!
i dont want to ever play americans if they get such grave inbalance. i can always pick german, use puma and 1 shot every stuart i encounter while they need 2000 shots to take me down.
