Oh please tell the devs not to fix it, its actually the only solid reason to make these squads worth the grind for veterans with the former squad, other than the cosmetic novelty!
You can consult wikipedia on that considering they just rip them from there.

Needed to feedback having default army uniforms for Normandy was brilliant as Italians I’m pretty sure didn’t wear Italian uniform if some even were there… historians please feel feel to correct me.
Only thing for me there is no Paratrooper helmet option which is a shame, or maybe I’m expected to pay gold (which I might do!)

Very impressed, Thank you, ok so help me out which Enlisted in game uniform would they be wearing in Normandy, Bulge(?). Which colour would be the most historical accurate and type (screenshots would be nice). I cannot believe they wore bright blue maybe in Eastern Europe, khaki unlikely more Africa, but what would they wear in western Europe,).
Also did all Italians wear Italian uniform or were some Italians in German standard uniform?
just got the Italian MG squad and realize that all the star rating on them is too shit thus i sold about 6 of them, only have one good mg guy, also it unlocks engineer and radioman slot but i can’t place them inside? any advise on it?
Restart client you can then equip them, had same issue on console.
So tempted to buy the falshimyeager (?) helmets, 60 gold for Normandy customization, but I don’t have enough surplus… I am would have to aquire more gold, which I usually do for new squads etc.

Gaijin must be one of the top companies on the business of choosing a loose-loose deal, when a win-win is present.
the current situation: the new event squads, although not being allowed to be placed in the event squad slot (a slot every player have, and a squad every player can get, therefore an obvious plus for both: players get a better reward from an event, gaijin gets a higher player count from the better rewarded event as it is the purpose: another loose-loose nested within).
even with that, the new non-event-yet-rewarded-in-an-event squads were supplied with the ability to build AT and AA weapons. something to make the squad worthy over their TT counterpart, increasing its value, therefore event player numbers, etc etc. better rewards means more interest, by default.
now, the company is “considering” the new buildables granted a bug, and therefore lies within reason they are going to take steps (and dedicate dev time) to “fix” them.
and here is the loose loose path we tend to almost always choose in this game:
option A:
loose1: remove the ability to build deployables from squads already earned, on the way to be earned, and in any future related event by players, reducing the value of the squads in question: players loose.
loose2: developers must dedicate time to fix the squad skill trees, developer time desperately needed in a ridiculously huge amount of other places: developers loose.
Option B:
win1: leave these rare and very specific squads with the added value of extra buildings, making it at the very least more valuable than the common, normal, unlocked-by-just-playing squad counterpart in the TT. players win.
add to that the fact that in a couple months, someone could spend 50 or 100k or so to get something out of the silver box, and they get this, without any extras. not event squad slot, not different buildables.just a different colored TT squad. would this be considered a reward, or a punishment?
win2: developers dont have to dedicate time and effort to remake the special squads skill trees, freeing them to do other way more important things, like drinking coffee and talk about football. developers win.
add to this, the developers get to look magnanimous, willing to compromise and generous, not to mention looking for the players well being and taking the players side in (for once).
will we really be going down the loose-loose path? are we really so desperately looking to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

yes, indeed we go for the loose-loose. to be exact, they ALREADY “fixed the bug” and squads are just plain TT squads. excellent!
i didnt expected anything less than an INSTANT and IMMEDIATE fix to this absolutely game breaking bug. let the other bugs live a little longer, tho, whats 6 or 12 or mayhaps 18 months of soldiers equipping their secondary weapon by default instead their primary? bugs have rights too!
yeah this is why i keep quiet about some bug tbh Japan main are good at this.

After the armistice, large portions of the Italian armed forces were captured by the Germans (the armistice was a catastrophic organizational mess), and those who did not join the RSI were sent to prison camps or used as laborers in the Atlantic Wall as artillery and anti-aircraft workers and crews, or elsewhere on the front due to the increasing shortage of manpower in the German army (after all, we’re one step away from giving a child a Panzerfaust).
The uniforms had been practically the same since September 1943, so mainly classic gray-green.

in Normandy or outside?
Because if you mean a complete German uniform, it’s a little difficult to understand if that guy is Italian or not.
But there were some middle ways.
for example this is an Italian named Rinaldo Massi (I don’t remember his story exactly now, but if I’m not mistaken, he joined the German paratroopers for a short time after the armistice before joining the RSI. I have many photos of him.)



I don’t know why players are complaining about the squads…they are awesome! One suggestion, since they are specific to a nationality, whe you swap out soldiers like Riflemen for Specialists like Engineers or AT, it should automatically default the new soldier to that nationality…as in you shouldn’t have to use orders to change Americans to Brits or Germans to Italians.
Agreed about the first part. Everyone is treating these as if they are “event squads” and should have all the perks that go with that. They are not. They are explicitly tech tree squads, intended to be identical IN EVERY WAY to other tech tree squads, with the sole exception of their nationality and corresponding customization options.
There will eventually, according to this plan, be an alt squad for every (or almost every) tech tree squad. If you give these squads “event squad” perks all you are doing is devaluing the tech tree squads so that ultimately Italy is just a better version of germany, which is dumb af. Not to mention there aren’t any for Japan and ussr, so they will just not have the advantage of filling up their event squad slots like USA and germany.
On your 2nd point, disagree. I don’t want one of my guys name/nationality changed automatically if i put him in a certain squad. Sometimes i move guys around because it’s quicker than moving equipment around, and I don’t want “surprise! Yer man has a moustache now.” Maybe have a toggle when you purchase a soldier to be either german or Italian (and eventually, hopefully, others).
