My argument is, that I’ve seen more US planes suicide then German planes, it’s not effective and will be even less in future updates. 25 kills without rearming is kinda different then the 40 you stated previously.
AA, Fighters, if enemy has a brain of a wallnut it’s not the games problem.
American CAS is by no means useless. Is the german CAS stronger? Yes. Is the US CAS still effective? Yes. Does US faction have twice as many planes meaning twice as many CAS? Yes. The meaning of a US plane is to provide CAS and be able to shoot down German planes, which can’t be said about the BF 110 as it can’t dogfight for sh*t. Let me see another screenshot with a German guy in bf110 with 80 kills while also suiciding every run. You won’t because it’s not a viable strat. Killing yourself during the first run means you have to wait 3 squads before you go again. One good german bombing run every 3 squads vs. a consistent slightly effective bombing run by the US + another US plane doing the same. Yey, german suicide air supremacy
You are acting as if the US CAS had a 1 pound bomb with a 1 feet blast radius that can only do sightseeing up there when not fighting German planes. Try playing as Germans and see how fun it is to get bombarded every minute by the “weak useless” P 38 rockets that still do 8 kills a run with no possible counterplay as fighters and AA doesn’t exist.

And the US rockets have a blast radius of only several feet compared to the 50 foot or so blast radius of the BF110s
Yeah the radius is smaller. Still effective cas and still a better dog fight plane.
Its literally useless for CAS. I’ve seen guys fly P38s around all match and typically end up with only 20 kills. Sure it can shoot down the 110 like 75% of the time and the Ju188 every time. But thats all the plane can do
Yeah and I’ve seen it have 50 kills as well, and I’ve seen bf 110 pilot have 7 kills at the end of the match. It’s almost as if it’s subjective and depends on many factors, such as skill, situation and so on. Weird huh. It’s not useless by no means, it gets its job done, just worse then its counter part. Once again, since it can shoot its counter part down, I’d rather more consistent less effective CAS then an inconsistent more effective CAS. This is a personal preference and I don’t blame you for like one over the other. I’m blaming you for saying it’s an objective problem when it’s not.
You guys play too much CoD and need to get massive +300 POINTS WOWZOR YOU KILLED AN AIRPLANE. I killed 4 planes and I beat someone with 2 captures and 20 more assists by 800~ points almost.
Planes and Tanks are EXP loot boxes right now since no one runs bombers and engineer squad to counter them.
First of all, Thank you all for the many contributions to the thread. The point of the post was to inspire meaningful and open discussion about my perceived issues. Also thank you to the people who added information about the issues currently being solved.
I can see that opinions differ on mainly airplanes so allow me to add to my original statement to hopefully make It a bit more clear why I think the way I think in regards to piloting.
I am not saying that airplanes are automatically a god killer. They do certainly require skill and experience to weild correctly and have perhaps the steepest learning curve in the game. However, my contention against airplanes as It stands is that, while hard(er) to master, will outperform any other role in the game when in the hands of someone who know how to fly irregardless of the skill of the other players in the other roles.
Yes, bombs don’t cover the entire map and yes there are counters to bombers but in the case of invasion maps bombs certainly cover a significant portion of the map as there are only a few areas that are of interest as the teams will clump up around one objective rather than fight over 3. As far as I am aware the ability to restock your arnaments for your tank on these tanks don’t exist while for airplanes they do. Perhaps the argument in this case could be made that the same should apply to airplanes on this specific game mode as the map/gamestyle of invasion will further serve to highlight the issues of vehicles
In regards to AA’s all I can say is this; While you are sitting there waiting to kill 10% of the enemy team the pilot is flying around looking to kill 100% of the enemy team which in the end means that the pilot will always aid their team more aid in winning the match than someone manning the AA. I am aware that an AA is capable of killing more than airplanes but It is definately not the best tool to do so while the airplane is an excellent and far more proficient tool at killing just about anything on the map than the AA.
Finally I would like to highlight 2 more problems that I forgot to include in my original post; The clunkyness that exists around picking up weapons from the ground and the issues (bug?) regarding killing tanks and switching soldiers after having thrown explosive packs not resulting in you earning a tank kill.
BF110 vs PJ38: Playing both sides, you have to know the advantages of both and disadvantages. You need to have the concept of Energy fighting. Since everyone thinks planes are stuck on some 2d plane let me give you a tip on how to fight PJ-38’s
BF110, doesn’t turn as fast so you don’t want to use horizontal maneuver as the PJ38 will out turn you. You will expend MORE energy turning than the PJ-38, or slow down to match it which is again a loss of energy. You want to do more vertical focused maneuver.
Why is that, the BF110 loses less energy going up, so if you dive straight down and than go up, the same PJ-38 will be going at a slower speed, trying to climb up. So he expends more energy, putting him at a disadvantage so spirals down than going straight up, as he tries to chase you will lead to a fail. Where an PJ-38 will want to dive down and start turning, because if you try to follow it, you just wont be able to turn with it unless you slow down. Giving himself more distance.
A big issue is a lot of players in PJ-38/BF110, start the match looking for the big spawn kill. Which leads to me even in an A-20 to kill them because going down for the dive rocket will expend energy where I’m going full speed and climbing just a bit to spiral down and catch them. There is no excuse for the german light/heavy fighters to be in a class on their own that no one really runs air unless they have premium for USA, where no one really runs tanks because the BF110 is a killing machine.
BF110, also has the strongest base cannons where a single burst will rip apart even the a-20. Where most machine guns have to sustain fire for 1-2 seconds to down it.
I feel like they don’t. Just my opinion but I feel like infantry cannot be matched. I’ve read a lot of posts where pilots got dozens of kills but since their infantry was bad they lost a game. No objective captured means no win and planes can’t do that, though I understand that they can help with it a lot.
But everyone is complaining about the tanks being unable to rearm. It’s a bad system that punishes you for doing well for no reason. The longer you survive in a tank the more dire the situation with your ammo becomes. The moment you drive a tank around with 0 rounds to fire is one of the worst things in the game. Now imagine you are a pilot and you drop your first 1 or 2 bomb loads on the enemy, and now you can’t rearm. What do you do. Honestly tell me what would you do at that point as a plane player. Suicide? Sight see the nice french country side? As a multi role player (planes, tanks, infantry you name it I got it) I’d rather see the bombs get replaced by confetti then to remove rearming for planes. (don’t replace bombs with confetti it was a joke please)
But you don’t have to wait. Planes are very loud + they have to fly to rearm to the same spot every time. You can build an AA gun, play normally, and once you hear the plane incoming you get an easy kill since you 1. know it’s coming 2. know where it’s coming from 3. the plane has to go in a straight line to get accurate bomb hits.
Read about people having the issue with weapons a lot and have experienced the bug with tank kills not being counted because of soldier switching personally so hope they do fix that.
