Aircraft Battle Rating Adjustment Proposals for All Nations

First of all, aircraft such as the Re.2000, C.202 EC, Fw 190 A-1 Fw 190 A-4, P-38E, Yak-3 and Yak-9T(maybe)mig-3, which had no factory bomb-carrying capability historically, should either be placed at BR 1 or removed from the tech tree entirely.
Without bomb loadouts, they cannot pose a meaningful threat to tanks starting from BR 1, and their effectiveness against infantry is extremely limited. They can barely harm armoured cars and light vehicles either. The devs should not ahistorically add bombs to these planes.

On top of that, most players rarely use these aircraft, yet they require a huge amount of time to unlock. This change would barely hurt veteran players, while helping new players unlock firepower faster.

Next up are changes for BR 1 bombers:
The SB 2M-105, Ju 87 B-2, SBD-3, D3A (Val) and B5N (Kate) should all be put into BR 1. This groups together slower aircraft with high-yield bomb payloads into one bracket.

Reasoning:
The SB 2M-105 only carries 100 kg bombs, but it can perform level bombing, has a larger bomb count and is the fastest among this group.
The Ju 87 B-2 has moderate speed, carries a 250 kg bomb and has a well-balanced loadout.
The SBD-3 can carry an extremely powerful 1000 lb bomb, at the cost of very low speed and low ammunition for its defensive machine guns.
The Japanese D3A Val and B5N Kate offer two distinct player choices at BR 1. The D3A is slow but has defensive armament, making it a good early-unlock strike plane. The B5N is faster and more maneuverable, yet lacks defensive guns, and should also stay in BR 1 so players can pick based on preference.

Next, adjustments for BR 1 fighters:
First, all tropical (trop) variants of the Hurricane, Spitfire and Bf 109 should be removed. They were intended for desert theatres only and do not belong on other maps; replace them with standard variants: Hurricane Mk.IIB, Spitfire Vb, Spitfire Vc and Bf 109 F‑4.

For the Allied side, the Spitfire Vc should get two 250 lb underwing bombs, serving as a cannon‑armed upgrade over the Hurricane Mk.IIB to better counter the German Bf 109 E‑7/U2.
The German Bf 109 F‑1, F‑2 and F‑4 should all be placed at BR 1 to fight against the Spitfires.
For Japan, the A6M2 Zero Model 21 should be moved down to BR 1 to face the Yak‑1 and Spitfires.

To be continued. I am still refining and revising these proposals. Discussions are welcome!

When the developers consolidated all campaigns into four nations, they removed a large number of vehicles and squads. I don’t see anything wrong with this, and I hold no prejudice or intent to offend. Please stop closing my threads without reason, or I will report you.

  • I agree — remove all planes that cannot carry bombs.
  • I agree that planes which historically came with factory bomb hardpoints should get their bomb loadouts added
  • I agree with the BR changes
  • I agree with all of these points

Just because a plane has no armaments doesn’t mean it’s useless, they’re probably gaining better air to air fighting capabilities without those bombs anyways compared to other planes, which is useful when the other team has strong bombers

Yes

No, that 37mm is actually really effective against tanks

No

Yes, along with the Ju-87 R-2

That’s terrible logic, especially when it comes to removing something. Just give them bombs and let them thrive at BR2 and BR3

It don’t have HE soo It can go down to at least Br2 there is a premium Lagg with the same canon but on BR1 and have been there for years soo the Yak-9T can go down

I’m not arguing that the Yak-9T should stay at BR3, I’m just saying it shouldn’t go down to BR1

Aircraft that can carry bombs get better performance once they drop them. Meanwhile, planes without any bomb hardpoints are inherently weaker right out of the gate.

Yeah but at least It should go to BR2 unless they give It HE

  1. If the SB 2M-105 does not get added, the USSR will end up with no attack aircraft at br1.

  2. This is not removing them; it is just swapping them for their non‑trop variants, basically a reskin.

Maybe, but that means that planes without payloads can have a consistent advantage in air to air combat especially when taking advantage of high altitudes to camp for bombers and jets.

Why don’t you just hit space to jettison your bombs at the start of the match? Once the ordnance is dropped, every variant of the P‑51 and P‑47 is more than capable of fighting jets.

  1. There are better options than an upgrade to an already existing aircraft and putting it at a lower BR.

  2. People are gonna ask for North African decals and skins

Space? I never used a keyboard in enlisted?

not really a problem if we’re being serious. Yak 1 is fine for BR 1 attacker duties. And like a few days later, players can unlock Su-2 which is completely oppressive at BR2.

That’s ridiculous. If aircraft balance adjustments are even needed in the first place, then what about the fact that the USSR has zero attack aircraft at BR 1? Unless they’re somehow allowed to spawn two fighters at once at that rank.

Interesting suggestion.

I love flying in this game, but it really is quite a mess.
I have so many planes that are beautiful and fun to fly but they are completely useless and I never ever use any of them.
Also, having the incorrect versions or skins flying around all over wrong places in the world is just stupid.

I agree that fighters without suspended armament are next to useless in this game and should never have been added.
Sadly the game differentiates our planes in fighters and attackers.
It should be attackers and bombers.
So there simply would not be anymore useless fighters.
Indeed this requires a rather drastic solution, like removing all fighters without suspended armament or adding suspended armament to them all.

I also agree with the variants needing changes.
It’s just stupid to fly a TT Bf 109 F-4 “trop” over Russia or Normandy.
Or flying an IL-2M type 3 with a white BP camo over the Far Eastern front.
Or an allied plane with D-Day striping over the Pacific.
For a game that strives for historical accuracy, this really is a major issue.
This indeed also requires a rather drastic solution, like removing or reskinning the planes.
But I would rather see the same game mechanic as ground vehicles have: select the plane skin per campaign individually.
But, there would have to be skins available for sale and the prices would be insane, just like with ground vehicles, who almost nobody buys, so that won’t work…

So, drastic changes are needed, or we’ll be stuck with mistakes from the past forever.
