AI Suggestion make them like brothers in arms

To start with search Brothers in arms Gameday. The game was basically the same as enlisted however you could direct the AI behind cover and see the outline of where they would stand and take cover. It would also be useful because the mgs would mount and fire on other soldiers instead of standing there and firing from the hip.

I would also like if you could split your squad into separate groups so like in Goebbels Villa you could Mount mg in the Windows and mount them on different floors.

Brothers in arms AI = best AI of its time

Enlisted bots = ADHD, claustrophobic and disobeys every command you give.

Mate excellent suggestion I was thinking to make a post like this with some screenshots. The ability to preview and place them in advantageous positions in cover would be great!

Yes please do that and leave a link to it here

Except you are comparing apples to bananas. Brothers in arms is SP tactical shooter with scripted AI. Enlisted is an MMO with deep learning AI (has still a lot to learn though  ). I see no similarity.

Could they not add where you could order the AI to cover and show the out line of the AI?

BiA had multiplayer with players controlling bot squads…

Never played the game rigth! Maybe you need play it only for try the multiplayer and wiew how a scripted ai of 2005 is superior to an deep learning ai of 2021

Even if they couldn’t hit the side of a barn from 20 paces, at least they took cover against the direction of the enemy.

Plus the suppressing fire mechanic was key.

May be BOT 100 in CS 2000 good then Enlisted 2021.

It’s 100% script-based AI. If there was a neural network here, then the AI would not have such a terrible patchfinder, as well as an obviously scripted reaction to the enemy and lack of memory (context).

Also, training a neural network always causes glitches if the training comes from the actions of the players, since often people are irrational and we would observe bots climbing onto roofs, placing rally points in attics and performing seemingly meaningless actions.

I’m going to guess that calculating the pathfinding for thousands of bots in real time can get expensive in terms of cpu, so it has to be dumbed down. I don’t know to what degree they use neural networks for the AI, but there was a dev blog post about it a few months ago if you want to read more

so if a neural AI is too expensive in terms of resources why not use a scripted one, making it more stupid does not help

This was my source.

Hey guys I thought of something else what if they made it where the AI learned from you specifically and no one else so the AI would match you play style and would also promote people to play the game more. What do y’all think ?
