I don’t even want to play Enlisted until I see a significant number of change log notes related to AI in a future update. For now I’m gonna throw out some suggestions instead of making this a useless rant thread.
-
They don’t keep up with you when you start sprinting, leaving them about 40-75 feet behind you. Make the AI prioritize catching up to you faster.
-
Their aggro-sensitivity needs to be heavily worked on. They either snipe you from afar, or can’t even fire once in close quarters. They should be able to fire at targets and suppress enemies, while occasionally missing shots when trying to kill a target.
-
They don’t follow you through windows when entering a building, and instead take a longer route which exposes them to enemy gunfire which results in them being cut down. Vaulting and climbing mechanics need to be addressed too, my soldier shouldn’t be bathing in vaseline before combat.
-
They need to intelligently seek cover more often and stay there, not standing out in the open.
-
They need to know how to properly maneuver around poorly fortified Rally Points (sandbags and barbed wire breaking their pathfinding).
-
They need to move out of the way when Friendly or Enemy vehicles are close to them, so they don’t get ran over as often (this is more of an issue with friendly vehicles).
-
They need to also prioritize staying inside of trenches when you’re already in one, instead of staying on the surface which leads them to be killed.
-
For the most part, dense bushes and trees should be ‘opaque’ to AI. If a middle ground could be found with this, I’m all ears.
Yes, I’m aware that the AI are getting big adjustments according to one of the dev blogs from about a month ago. Can’t wait for that.
