AI soldiers are disobeying orders more and more. If I don’t give them the order to defend a certain point (usually behind potential kill zone) while I try to snipe or other action, they will run ahead into open view (death) or block me and my shooting (also death, more likely for me). When I go prone to shoot they tend to crawl over me and block full vision (Bam! I get shot), and kneeling they take a position standing in front of me.
LOL - how many times I low crawl to an objective and peer behind me to see my squad standing behind (It seems stealth is not in their actions). The worse offender AI is the radio operator, the first to get killed in my squads every time. Seems he wants to win an award more than every other soldier. squad of 5-9 radio man down every time, every time. (JERK!! radio man).
Lets not go into watching your back, these morons let the enemy come up and order drinks, meals, and even hand them a knife to kill me. I am a strict commander but come on!
Okay so do you agree that some sort of stay command in a location would work, or possibly a guard mode would be a better work on. Please don’t get me wrong the dynamics are outstanding in this game, but if those choices don’t work can I get a court martial button.
I have actually not thought about what would be the best all around way to improve them so fire away people lets find some cool fix to the insubordination.
My favorite is when I order my squad to hold position, and despite the little green cross-hair that indicates the location I’ve ordered my troops to stand… at least half of the A.I. prefers to stand 15m away, fully exposed and giving away the position of the rest of squad.
It’s so fucking annoying to try getting the squad to hold tight in a concealed position (utilizing cover), and they refuse to stand where you want them. In fact, it appears they like to stand anywhere but where the players wants them to hold.
They jump on top of obstacles/barriers, and just stand there like a zombie.
Better yet… they jump up, do a few circles, then climb down. And then they repeat the cycle over and again until they get killed.
And don’t even think about asking your A.I. to hold position inside a trench… Because at least half of them will climb ABOVE the trench, and just stand there waiting to get shot. Or they will glitch out and start running back and forth or in circles.
It’s even worse for trenches dug by players with their shovels. The A.I. appears to not even comprehend or detect that player-built trenches even exist.
One-by-one they each get shot, and the next A.I. in the squad will run over and stand in the exact same position as the previous A.I. that just got killed. Wanna kill another player’s A.I. squad from a distance? Just shoot ONE of the A.I. soldiers and wait for the next A.I. to run over and stand in his place.
It’s pretty awful.
This is beyond annoying, and is almost game-breaking. And it seems like this last month, the A.I. has gotten even worse. The number of times I am trying to engage enemy players, and my fucking A.I. squad literally runs infront of me, and STANDS THERE.
Not only am I unable to engage the enemy players… but when this happens, the enemy player gets a MAJOR advantage and often kills more than 50% of the squad.
I know its also crazy I go to call artillery to find somehow out of the whole squad the radio man got killed miles from combat. LOL like he exploded from being kept back. Notice now if they are out of ammo they dont wait till you find ammo they pull a knife and run straight at the enemy.
