I think that when an AI shoots at a player it would apply a suppression effect to the players allowing the Ai to become more of a battle asset. This may also help prevent them from becoming a sitting duck waiting to be shot.
I also think that adding more commands for the Ai would be nice, such “take cover here” which allows them to snap to and take cover behind a short wall or at a window and shoot while behind cover ducking and popping back up after shots. (this would also improve their accuracy)
Honestly I was thinking the same thing. Kind of like how the mechanics to control units are on men of war assault squad 2. Allowing them to take cover behind certain points, and giving commands like formations. For making them crouch at that position or go prone or stand up. Hold fire/ Return Fire/ Fire at will/ Also the ability to tell your squad unit to charge, and throw a tank nade at a tank or building would be a cool feature. I could think of a long list of commands that would make the squad AI function better in my opinion.
I haven’t seen a command to take out a tank or throw a nade???
The main one I would want is hold fire, cause I mean how many time have you had your troops straggle behind, cause they are trying to aim for people across the map. Not to mention also giving away your position if you’re trying to flank the enemy without them knowing.
It’s like alright boys we are going to take the far right flank, and have a sneaky approach. AI “What boss did you say open fire? ALRIGHT I’M OPENING FIRE ON THAT DUDE IN THE MG NEST SARGE” *Instantly gets the whole squads cover blown, and mowed down by the MG nest.
Just press X when aiming at the tank. X is an universal command that changes depending on what you are looking at: control the point, control the vehicle, wait here, build fortification, destroy fortification or, like in this case, destroy the vehicle.
Wow I honestly did not know that. Thanks for the tip I honestly thought x was just hold that position, and get over here. I’ll have to use that more, but yeah my only problem with the AI is how dumb the act cause they fire at will lol.
Yeah, that can be problem sometimes. One another tip that can help is that they react to your “V” markers. So if you mark a direction couple of times they should turn that way. But I don’t know if they will ignore incoming fire.
Anyway, I gave you lik to development report too and it is said there that devs are working on “stances” and it will possible to make AI more sneaky and they will not fire until fired upon.
