AI control

Give us more control over AI. I.e. hold fire, fire at will, stay low, etc.Now they fire everywhere so sneaky flank is imposdible.

I think it may be useful if it’s reduced to:

  1. Fire at will (normal mode, fire at anything that speaks a different language)
  2. Hold fire unless fired upon (hold fire, but if someone fires at us, it automatically switches to “Fire at will” mode).

Anything more complicated than that will confuse 90% of the people. “Why the hell were my bots crawling around, instead of running away from danger? This cost me a game!”, when in reality they simply forgot to turn that mode off.

Maybe, but I really do want my bots to just keep their heads down sometimes, while I take care of business. How about this? Whenever you tell your squad to stay at a position, they will automatically lay low, unless inside a building?

Im reeeeally wishing we got in depth orders for AI, especially individual unit orders.

Say, you hold a key that opens a radial menu of all your soldiers. You can select and highlight one, perhaps multiple, or select a radial option ‘select all’, and give specific orders through that means. Then once you let go of the key you just issue orders as you normally would, but it only applies to the highlighted soldiers. This would work for console or PC. It would be neat to have unique orders, such as having them prop up at sandbags or windows. Especially for recon or MG.

They would probably have to remove the proximity requirement. Which would make the game much more immersive than seeing bunched up fish barrels of soldiers scattering in different directions.
