Change the Ai to be more realistic tired of getting 360 no scoped by bots
You must have picked up that phrase in Fortnite. It’s never once happened to me….please post a video clip.
if you find bot try miss a shot then the next second he immediately facing you then blow your head
it dont really happen on every bot but that does happen a alot
Also bots shoot through foliage at least in tunisia, not accurately but just spamming blindly.
After those bots hit and down soldier they just stop shooting
I’ve seen it happen myself sometimes.
As soon as bots “feel” targeted, they’ll immediately focus on you and return fire, with human-like accuracy but definitely superhuman target identification (they’ll instantly target you back even from long distance and hidden).
At close range, like when fighting for urban caps, bots may even ignore you and run past you, if you don’t shoot them and they’re “busy” navigating and following their squad leader. But as soon as you open fire on them, supposedly catching them from their back, they will LITERALLY do instant 180° and shoot back, usually hitting you.
Ultimately, the best way to understand how AI act the way they do and propose change sis understanding how they are coded, which would also open the game to exploiting the vulnerabilities of their behaviour.
AI teammates are simply a program running until killed, and have several priorities depending on environmental conditions.
As basic behaviour, they follow the squad leader around, keeping a short distance from them and imitating their movement with some delay (going prone, crouch, run behind).
They also follow orders.
-To move: to a capture point or to a marked point.
If using squad orders, they will wander around somewhat once reaching the point, disperse a bit, adopt a behaviour of “guarding area”.
With individual orders, they will move much less, and become a bit less responsive.
-To heal/build: only one of the squad (the closest capable of doing the action, it appears) will move to help.
They take a while to get the order, and have a slight delay in putting it into action.
-To attack a tank? I think you can order them to throw grenades iirc, totally unreliable.
There’s then the environmental conditions to alter some of these actions.
-When attacks happen very close to them (2 m radius more or less), the AI will enter a state of “self defense” for some seconds where they ignore previous orders and try to respond to the threat.
That makes them pospone their movement orders, take some time to turn towards the direction of the attack, take some time to aim, and eventually shoot, with varying levels of accuracy.
From what I experienced, cancellation of movement orders by attack results in a noticeable delay to turn and aim, while a guarding squad is slightly less useless, although still taking some time to detect the attacker and shooting.
The most effective way to deal with either is break the tracking/aim by using solid cover. The bots aim is based on what they shouldn’t see through at all, else they might be blind to people in bushes.
Jumping/moving around can work to make them miss a shot, but I don’t think it breaks tracking effectively.
I think most quick kills come from bots, meaning false players to fill lobbies, and their “squad leaders”. Those have way faster reaction times and better average weapons, but it’s hard to know sometimes what is a squad minion, a bot, a bad player or a very good player.
