So, I use these name changes to rename the Soldiers and often name them after some of the Soldiers I had the opportunity to fight alongside of. I seen a squad of turkish dudes or something yesterday. How is it we don’t have Black squads or Soldiers? The 761st Black panthers could be a premium Sherman squad with an uparmored sherman or maybe a plow on the front. The “Come out fighting…” Black Panthers were known for modifying their Stuarts and Shermans.
I really want to name some of these dudes after many of the men I hold in the highest respects. I will tell you of one. SFC Foster has deployed with me to Saudi, Syria, Kuwait, Iraq, and I think he was in Afghanistan and Jordan with me as well. On the civilian side he is an ER Nurse and studying to be a PA. I have used him in many roles and handed my platoon over to him when I retired.
In Syria he was my Weapons Squad Leader (LMG) and I could trust him to command his guns to fire 15m to our front as we moved forward as a Platoon. Although we are both Infantry we did at one point serve together in a mechanized Infantry Company (Bradley and dismounts) in Iraq. He also happened to be one of my best shooters and even was sent by us to Squad Designated Marksman training and then Sniper. Dude is a humble warrior leader. Wouldn’t be right to name a white faced Soldier after him.
- As a segregated squad
- As a Soldier appearance option

My assumption as to why Gaijin doesn’t have black combat soldiers in Enlisted is because the vast majority of black soldiers who served in WW2 served in support roles rather then combat roles. Really, not till you get to the Vietnam war did blacks serve in a significant number of combat roles. However, it would be nice if individual players had the option of changing the race of their Allied soldiers.

That’s incorrect. We already have Halloween black guy and British event paratrooper.
Plus one premium pilot.

There are 2 black hero soldiers and 1 squad in the game

To prevent your Black Panthers suggestion from being closed, it should also have a “no, dont add” option in the poll (according to the rules for posting a suggestion)

Rgr, ty, I tried to get it to have 3 options and it wouldn’t do it, I’ll try to edit it.
It won’t let me add that option.
Ty btw, bought the pilot. I still would love if they did a premium tank squad, I’d like to rename them after a couple more stand out guys I served with.

Yes, enlisted has a single black medic and a single Tuskegee airman, and as far as I know, that is the extent of blacks in Enlisted. The Dev’s could create a black platoon, as there were some in WW2, but the vast majority of blacks that served in WW2 were in support roles. It would be nice though if the player had a choice as to race, especially with the Allies because they had blacks, whites, hispanics, asians, native americans ect. In fact, many of my radiomen are named after native american code talkers.

The 761st Tankers were a majority African American but did have some white guys too, I really like that they were known for fashioning whatever they could to uparmor their tanks.

We’ve got a pilot, we’ve got an infantry guy - they could’ve given us a tanker too. I’d put him in the tank as the loader.

A segregated squad would mean an additional squad…
And we never have enough squads!

I want to see Tirailleurs, the Coast Watchers of the Solomon Islands, and the Nepalese Gurkha soldiers. Gumie was a good attempt

I’ve been waiting for King’s African Rifles (and other African divisions, like Nigerian), Gurkhas, and Indian Army squads and soldiers, since the Burma Campaign got released. They all fought there.
I still can’t believe that the Burma Campaign was released with zero Commonwealth content to go along with the update.
All we got even vaguely connected to that campaign was from the last update, that dumb Chindit saboteur soldier, erroneously associating them with perfidy and infiltration missions (as if Chindits dressed up and pretended to be Japanese soldiers). Should have been a British SOE or American OSS agent instead… Almost two years to get anything specific for that campaign, and they still mucked it up!

(Why vote no against a possible free event squad?)
I don’t want an event squad where the only appealing factor is the persons skin color… you can’t even see it… the black pilots hands are whitewashed.

personally i feel like both is good but whatever.
I closed the poll gents as I couldn’t figure out how to add more than 2 options. If I can figure it out I’ll start a new poll with options that include a no option.
hm i suppose i wouldnt mind either of these as an event squad especially considering the icon
