Addressing Bugs and Improving AI Behavior in the Test Server Introduction:

Hi there!

I recently downloaded the test server to check how everything was going with the latest update. I must say that I am very impressed with the progress the developers have made and the excellent work they have done; they truly deserve congratulations. However, I have noticed some things that caught my attention. From bodies with disappearing legs when the player is not aiming, to AI soldiers moving as if they had consumed liters of Red Bull. Here, I present some important points that could be addressed.

  1. Corpse-Related Bugs: Unveiling the Afterlife Dilemma

Within the test server, a prevalent issue revolves around the behavior of corpses, demanding attention and resolution. Players have reported instances where fallen soldiers’ bodies behave erratically, floating or twitching in unnatural ways. This not only disrupts the immersion that Enlisted strives to deliver but also impacts gameplay as it creates confusion about the actual position of players on the battlefield.

The significance of accurate corpse representation in a game like Enlisted cannot be overstated. It affects tactical decisions, as players rely on visual cues to identify friend from foe and strategize accordingly. Addressing these corpse-related bugs is crucial to maintaining the game’s realism and ensuring a seamless gaming experience.

  1. Blood Animation Glitches: Fluids or clay?

Another issue that has surfaced in the test server pertains to blood animation glitches. In some instances, blood appears to be frozen in mid-air, creating an eerie and unrealistic atmosphere on the battlefield.

Fluid and dynamic blood animations contribute to the visual intensity of combat, enhancing the overall gaming experience. Rectifying these glitches is essential not only for aesthetic reasons but also to ensure that players can rely on visual feedback during engagements.

I’ve observed that the depiction of blood in the game resembles more of a modeling clay texture than a fluid and realistic element. The dense and static texture of the blood creates a visually dissonant experience compared to the intensity of the combat. Additionally, when examining bodies after a confrontation, it’s evident that the absence of impact marks diminishes the authenticity of interactions. The lack of these marks removes a crucial element of realism, as on a battlefield, it would be natural to expect visible signs of the violent encounters that have taken place. Addressing these aspects would not only enhance the game’s aesthetics but also contribute to a more immersive and authentic experience for players.

  1. AI Soldier Behavior: The Dance of the Restless Warriors

A rather peculiar challenge introduced in the test server revolves around changes in the behavior of AI soldiers. Players have observed AI soldiers incessantly moving, sometimes in seemingly random patterns. This departure from more predictable AI behavior can disrupt player strategies and impact the overall flow of battles.

Predictable AI behavior is essential for players to anticipate enemy movements and formulate effective plans. The current restlessness of AI soldiers hampers this predictability, making engagements less strategic and more chaotic. Adjusting the AI behavior to strike a balance between challenge and predictability is vital for maintaining the game’s competitive edge.

Conclusion:

While the test server updates for Enlisted bring forth exciting changes and improvements, it is imperative to address the identified bugs and issues to ensure a polished and immersive gaming experience. The developers’ commitment to fine-tuning corpse behavior, blood animations, and AI soldier movements will undoubtedly contribute to the overall quality of the game.

Let me know your thoughts and comments, and I hope these issues will be addressed.
