The WW2 Paratrooper: First-Hand Accounts of the D-Day Invasion

For many reasons the US was the only country to employ back up parachutes. The UK and Germany did not choose to employ backups. I think they could help the game letting you slow down, cut and then deploy before smacking into the ground. This would limit the vulnerability or paras landing.

Why Countries did not use
-Weight reducing ammo carried
-less useful on low level jumps (500 FT or less)
-UK prioritized them for bomber crews
-Heavy use of Gliders
-UK used converted bombers centerline floor jump holes

Why the US used it
-Deep penetration with larger units
-The US use converted cargo planes with side doors
-Safety

We can debate a lot of things about the paratrooper corps like the lack of gliders. If Paratroopers should be able to shift there landing spot. This is less a thing with round chutes of the time. But i think tactical use of a backup chute cold change paras from targets to strikes.

When i saw it right on a few paras they have it on just cant use it and that whould be great when you get stuck up on a very high building and junmping again is the only option to get down.

Example: the Zeppelins in Normandy maps i landed a few times on it was kinda funny too but well cant escape
