The F-80-5 currently existing in the game, which is the paid version, is an improved model of the F-80A-1. We can definitely create the F-80A-1 as a base model to enter the tech tree.
Improvements of the F-80A-5 compared to the F-80A-1 are as follows:
- Engine
Equipped with the J33-A-17 engine, thrust increased from 3,850 lbs to 4,000 lbs, resulting in slight improvements in acceleration, climb, and top speed performance. - Air intake design
Added boundary layer splitter plates and optimized intake airflow for better stability at high speeds. - Exterior structure
Landing light moved from below the nose to the front landing gear strut, giving the nose a cleaner appearance. - Fuel supply system
Optimized fuel piping, improving fuel supply reliability and slightly enhancing actual endurance and loiter capability. - Exterior paint
Standard batch paint changed from olive green to all-metal finish. - Flight characteristics
After engine and intake optimization, overall maneuvering response and high-speed handling are superior to earlier batches.
It is recommended to use the existing F-80A-5 model as a base for fine-tuned replication to create the F-80A-1 variant. The key modifications are as follows:
- Replace the J33-GE-11 engine parameters, reducing thrust to 3,850 pounds to match the original performance.
- Remove the boundary layer splitter structure in the intake.
- Relocate the landing light back to under the nose.
- Adjust the fuselage paint to an olive drab scheme.
- Slightly reduce endurance and high-speed handling characteristics to reflect batch differences.
And it does not affect the gaming experience of paying players at all, because the basic version of the F-80A-1 is weaker.
