Why not, plus I can finally be free from the chains of BR 5!

no.

gasmask should only be available to ofhrer soldiers, and at best, flametroopers.

beside that, it’s just tasteless nonsense.

EDIT. even flametroopers is a bit far fetched, although not totally made up unlike pretty much your average soldier with gas mask for no apparent reason.

This ain’t COD, battlefield or siege, we don’t need every soilder to be wearing a gas mask, the only reason the current gasmasks are in game is because of the captured panzershreck

agreed. outside of soldiers that actually wore them(flametroopers and AT soldiers), they should not be general cosmetic. gas masks arent used by normal soldiers when there is no chemical attack.

I would be open to seeing flametroopers having gasmasks in the appearance tab, but I think the gasmasks assets would need a filter added.

AT troopers with the panzershreck shouldn’t be constantly wearing the gasmasks in my opinion, they should only put them on when the AT weapon is actually equipped.

no, gasmask should be for everyone, if you don’t like it, I can accept, but it’s your own opinion, here it’s an example from japan with a whole squad in ww2 period using the gasmasks

A, no sane person would run around with a gas mask unless actual necessities
as it restrains your visual and hearing. as far as game goes, just wannabe edge lords goes with full masks

B, japan was one of the very few nations to use extensively chemical warfare
which wouldn’t transfer well onto other nations for the same reasons. matter of fact, almost no one used them. it was for a fear from the first world war. kinda like the germans with the zimmerith paste on their tanks. unironically, they were the only one using magnetic mines.

C, enlisted has 0 chemical weapons ( on a technicality, the WP grenade after the fire is one, but a gas mask wouldn’t save you from a WP )

and to conclude,

D, one random picture does not represent the majority.

so no,
it’s not a matter of opinions i’m afraid, but common sense.

if it was only that. gas mask restricts breathing so you need to spend energy just to breathe, not to mention it makes you sweat like crazy.

they used chemical weapons mainly against chinese, so it is kinda pointless in the game currently. google AI mentions rare occasion against allies, but doesnt mention what was used and where. it is mentioned that they feared allied reprisal, so they didnt really use them against them.

and then there is this argument:

Japan only did chemical warfare?, GOOD joke here, look brits and americans, they used everything they had against the japs, sorry but nope

please give me sources on USA or UK doing chemical warfare against japan. afaik they did everything except chemical warfare.

look about what they did with the M4 4.2 inch Recoilless Mortar,ok, it was experimental but used against japs, you can even check the manual from my post: Flamethrower Murican Structure about UK, ok they didn’t use actively but had plans

What did they use?

exactly. they had plans, but was never used. one of the reasons on why is cause if one side started with chemical warfare, other would retaliate.

No thanks.

We already have that “cool” game at home.

I will be honest, I can’t remember now

Gasmasks used to be cool and mysterious, but then every game and movie overused them :disappointed_relieved:

Is that perhaps because it never happen?

I know of one accidental release of mustard gas by the British in Italy (German bombers attacked a ship secretly carrying it, planed to be used only in relatiation in case of a German first strike), other than that there are no recorded use of western Allied chemical weapons. In fact, the only first strike plan on behalf of any western Allied military of chemical weapons are the British, who heavily considered it if they experienced a German invasion.
