Hello,
I’d like to suggest a small improvement to the current aircraft bomb and rocket drop mechanics.
A while ago, there was a change that made bombs and rockets drop one by one instead of being released in groups.
This works fine for larger bombs (250 kg / 500 lb and above), since a single drop still has enough destructive power — in fact, it can even feel like a buff.
However, for smaller bombs like 50 kg / 60 kg / 100 lb, this change has caused a noticeable downgrade.
For example, with the BF 109:
Before the patch, it carried four 50 kg bombs and could drop them in pairs, meaning two drops total.
With this system, we could accurately drop two bombs at the exact same spot,
allowing small-bomb aircraft to effectively destroy vehicles or clear objectives.
Now, even when trying to drop quickly on the same location,
the bombs fall one by one, making it much harder to concentrate firepower
and destroy ground targets like before.
As a result, the anti-vehicle capability of small-bomb aircraft has been significantly reduced.
Suggested Improvement
Please consider adding an option — either in aircraft settings or as a switchable hotkey — to choose between:
- Grouped Drop Mode (previous system: bombs/rockets released in pairs or clusters)
- Single Drop Mode (current system)
I believe this would restore the usefulness of smaller bombs
while still keeping the benefits of the current system for larger ordnance.
Thank you for your continued work on the game,
and I hope you will consider this suggestion!
Do you agree with adding an optional grouped bomb/rocket drop mode?
