So right now when tou die and switch to squadmate controls you have this little animation of your camera going from the place of your death to the head of your squadmate. The thing is that if you face another player at this moment this player shoots your squad to, and by the moment you as a player take control over your squadmate body he is getting killed.
The length of this “jump” animation is right around time needed to reload most of bolt action riffles, so you take control right about time when this NPC is getting killed and it’s very very annoying.
I suggest either add option to disable this animation completely, so you’d take control immediately, or make this animation a little bit longer so you wouldn’t enter NPC body by the time it’s getting killed tgis way making all this death chain less annoying to watch.
Hm. That could make it better, yes. But to be honest in most cases it might not make much difference.
It takes the human body 3/4 of a second to react to an instant change, such as dying and then instantly taking control of another soldier who might have a different weapon, might not be facing the target and definitely won’t be precisely aimed.
But then again, I might be wrong. So…sure, why not.
If you use a controller, bind your right bumper to “switch soldier”.
That way when you die, you can quickly switch over to the next guy in your squad rotation.
Same applies if you’re using a keyboard.
But I know what you mean about the animation.
That “quickly” still takes like 1 second for camera to float toward soldier tou switch to
I agree, and this animation can cause bugs in some rare cases
You can’t switch to the next teammate but watch it as an invisible spectator, you can’t operate it and can’t do anything until this teammate is killed
