Currently, it is very annoying to have to press M to look into the map mid-battle all the time, even for the damn objective. If objective markers were at least added to the compass (that thing in the bottom left of the screen showing directions), then maybe it would help alleviate that annoying problem caused by the patch changes.
And it is not just me, currently, I see a lot of other people struggling to find directions on Lone Fighters, sometimes preventing them from properly going into point. And sometimes I even walk several meters on the opposite direction of the objectives just to realize I was going in the wrong way. These problems could all be fixed by such simple change.

I don’t find it annoying at all.
I think lone fighter works well only after you learned the maps.
Your suggestion would be good for those who are not interested in learning all the campaign maps in squad mode before playing LF. I guess @67929529 is not one of them.
I played squads before moving to LF.
Probably that’s why we don’t find it a problem - once you know it by heart where to go in most places, you have no needs to navigate based solely on the map.
There are objectives hard to find first, even when their marker is displayed on screen. E.g. if I remember well “B” capture in Pokrovskoye city is on second level of the building - I spent 3 minutes first time going back and forth in the building in squads mode not finding it, until I saw people walking upstairs. Now that for a LF-only guy would be even more painful with the necessity to open the map 10 times.

I know some of the maps, but it is almost impossible to reassure yourself that you’re going in the right direction and to the objectives without pressing m, mid-battle, to look into the map, which is very annoying.
after even more frustration in-game with bot-cage spawns, losing a well-played matched with a good team single-handedly because some dumbass made bot-cage spawns very well-placed near the front-line… in attics… twice… I update my suggestion to:
unable spawns to be built in 3rd floors and beyond
Or any spawns built after a certain elevation from the ground. Preventing spawns in the attics would be a massive step towards fixing this practice. Sure one wouldn’t be able to place spawns in the upper floors of the towers on the Monastery map after that change, but placing spawns on the upper floors there is very counter-productive in itself, forcing unaware players to take a massive detour to get back to the fighting…
