On the WWII battlefields riddled with barbed wire, wire cutters were a crucial breaching tool for infantry to break through defensive lines and open passageways. As a piece of equipment widely used during WWII, wire cutters deserve to be added to the game.
Although wire cutters were primarily issued to engineers, scouts, paratroopers, and frontline assault troops in actual combat, the Enlisted already allows all soldiers to carry tools outside their core function, such as binoculars and toolkits. Therefore, I believe wire cutters should also be made available to all soldier classes.
For exemple, in my german’s squads, I equip the “officer” with a sword + bino + golden pistol + “correct uniform” (as it’s possible in Enlisted…) ; and 1 or 2 others guys with showel (and AT mines), the others solidiers just get axes and ap mine .
I disagree… making axes have destruction mechanic would do this exact thing without having to add an item into the game… and engis already destroy structures faster.
However… the binocular slot as it stands id consider more of a novelty so i wouldn’t mind something else added there.
This would give a reason to use the axe over sword in japan as well although barbed wire is the least effective on that campaign except for putting it in the water and the small objectives.
Uhh… why? Engis build speed already achieves this task. I suppose for realism or whatnot but then it’s redundant in gameplay terms… because what are you doing if you don’t have build speed? Some advocate against it… i don’t understand those people.
Engee can already cut wire the fastest. Equiping engee with cutters makes no sense. The point here is to equip cutters for every soldier giving the the ability to cut as fast as engineers.
I say make room in those backpack for cutters, not just medkits.
what if making the tank toolkit allow any class to dismantle engineer buildables faster? It’s not a stretch to assume they could bring tools for the job in there, it wouldn’t require darkflow to make any new animations or models, and it would make encourage classes outside of tankers to bring toolkits so they can repair and support friendly vehicles
You can purchase wire cutters as a melee weapon, occupying a melee weapon slot.
You can speed up the process of cutting the wire. That way, wouldn’t it be much easier?
