Add directional damage indicator for vehicles

Currently there is none, if my vehicle is hit and the soldier I’m controlling take no damage there is no information to where the shot is coming from.

There are other indicators. You know where their spawn is, you can hear the directional sounds (tanks guns from a mile away. very distinct ). You can watch the kill feed to determine if there are other tanks and reference with map. If you took a hit, good chance your vehicle damaged components hold the key.

generally speaking you should be placing your self with minimal angle exposure…so if you get hit should be only from 1 or 2 angles.

I rather like not having all the information handed to the player. You have to use the Old noodle.

There are many asynchronous events happening in a match. You’re not going to clearly hear a tank shot all the time, that’s not a big problem as tank spawn is predictable like you’ve mentioned.

AT rifles and AT launchers will be harder to track, if they damage the vehicle components without damaging the player you can not tell the bearing of where the shooter is except for their general direction.

I’m asking for something that is already implemented in the infantry part of the game, and in all other FPS that will improve QoL. I’m not asking for something entirely new here.

Its not an unreasonable request (yours). I’m just of the old school variety that enjoys less information, less HUD and more work it out. No kill cams, no damage direction indicators, no lead indicators, no 3d spotting, no name tags

Works in your favor as well as against. If you pull off a really sneaky ambush, I don’t think the other player should be rewarded with all the info they need to ruin it or save their bacon. Same goes for aiming, I dont think the game should tell you where to shoot (tanks, planes)

(now this probably is unreasonable). If gamers weren’t so pampered these days and given everything like quest markers, HUDS, Kill cams, Big Red markers and lead indicators. They might be better at thinking for themselves and we might have higher quality gamer base that do stuff like building rallies :stuck_out_tongue:

This makes sense. If you are in a vehicle, you are definitely going to feel the force of impact of a hit. Even if it did not pen. You can rely on sounds, but not everyone has great hearing or good audio equipment. Not to mention there is a hundred other sounds going on.
