Kalimera, Zdravo and G’Day!
Recently Youtuber NapoleonTotal brought up the idea of the Balkans in Enlisted.
I previously made a post about this back in 2024. With the new poll system and better engagement in the forum I thought I would reintroduce this idea with updated concepts.
I would like to suggest to the community that the Balkan nations be added to the Allied tech tree as sub-factions.
By Balkan nations I refer to Greece and Yugoslavia. I believe someone previously suggested Albania in another post.
I say nations as Croatia and certain groups were more aligned with the Axis powers.
Croatia could be an Axis sub-faction similar to how I describe Greece and Yugoslavia here but I will make that a separate post.
Adding the Balkans to the game will provide more variety and interest, attracting new players and reducing the same-old, same-old for existing players.
Normally this post would include maps and weapons/vehicles however I have been instructed by the forum mods to keep those suggestions separate.
- Yes
- No
Greek sub-faction:
The Greek Army fought alongside Australians, New Zealanders, British and Free Polish forces to defend their homeland from the Italians and Germans.

Greece does have some indigenous weapons. Now again the mods have requested that weapons suggestions be made elsewhere.
The point here is that within the USA-UK tree there would be a either:
A drop down mini tech tree (you open it like a folder within a folder on your computer)
OR
Some Greek weapons would be added to the overall Allied tech tree but would be accompanied by Greek Army squads.
For example Gras M1874 rifle with a Greek Army riflemen squad. As with any other squad in Enlisted you could swap out weapons of your choosing as the Greeks used various British and American weapons as well as their own.
There are Greek tanks and aircraft which will be covered elsewhere.
Greek/Cretan Resistance Fighters
A new guerilla squad for the Allies.

British commandos could be a new event/premium squad.

For the picture above see my comments on Captain W. Stanley Moss below.
Royal Yugoslav Army

The same system I wrote for the Greek Army would work for the Royal Yugoslav Army. Either a mini tech tree or a weapon or two here and there attached to a Yugoslavian squad.
Tito’s Partisans
Another option for a guerilla squad. As I wrote in my old post, some players have requested female soldiers be added and a partisan squad is a realistic and historically accurate way of doing this as men and women in the partisans fought and lived alongside each other.
Tito’s forces were Communist though more aligned with the Western Allies than the USSR. That said partisans and the Red Army liberated Belgrade (a potential map) so it would be up to the devs whether they want to have a Balkan map for USSR as well in which case the partisans could be an additional Soviet guerilla squad.

Britain, Australia and New Zealand fought in Greece, Crete and the Balkans in addition to the local forces of those countries. Crete also saw large scale use of the German Fallsmirjager paratroopers (a potential premium squad).
I mention this to note that the Balkan campaign is not just important to those that live in that part of the world.
As I referred to at the start of this suggestion, the geography of the Balkans would be significantly different to existing maps and offer much needed variety.
What About the Americans?
If the Balkans are added I believe American soldiers would simply have their uniforms swap to British, like Italian uniforms currently swap to German ones in certain maps.
This will require a separate post , so I ask that my fellow Enlisted players please respect the Balkan idea as it is, voting on the merits of the campaign/subfactions itself rather than the (easily fixed) problem of Americans being queued with British.
I have included a list of potential maps below merely to prove that there are potential locations for these sub-factions to fight in. I would also request that discussion of the viability of each of these maps be withheld until I have made a separate post in the Maps section.
Suggested maps:
Elaia–Kalamas Line 1940
Metaxas Line
Battle for Thermopylae 1941
Battle for Kleisoura Pass
Battle for Vevi
Corinth.
Kalamata 1941
Crete.
Battle of Neretva 1943
Battle of Sutjeska 1943
In my old post I made suggestions for gold order soldiers. I am not sure whether we can still unlock ‘special’ soldiers, perhaps an event but I will share these brave men here anyway.
Sergeant Jack Hinton
New Zealand Victoria Cross recipient (VC is the highest military medal for valor in the UK & Commonwealth) for actions during the Battle of Kalamata. Later became a POW.

Captain W. Stanley Moss. British officer and SOE operative. Famous for the successful kidnapping of German general Kriepe on Crete. His autobiography was later made into the film Ill Met by Moonlight.

Squadron Leader Marmaduke ‘Pat’ Pattle
South African fighter ace. He was shot down in April 1941 over Piraeus, Greece. He shot down between 40-60 enemy aircraft including 5 or more aircraft in one day, on three occasions, qualifying him for ‘ace in a day’.

Acting Wing Commander Roald Dahl
Roald Dahl flew Gloster Gladiators and Hawker Hurricanes in the Battle for Athens. He became an ace as well as an intelligence officer.
He would go on to write books like Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, James & The Giant Peach and Mathilda.
