This refers to it having a dedicated slot in battle, like APCs or motorcycles. Currently, it still takes up a tank slot, meaning it occupies one of the two precious tank slots, yet it can’t perform the role of a tank at all and is forced to hide in the grey zone. In low BR matches with lower intensity, this isn’t a big issue. But in BR 5 matches filled with active players, it’s absolutely crippling.
Take the Kugelblitz for example. It was supposed to be a good addition to compensate for Germany’s air disadvantage, and it can effectively counter planes like the F-80 and P-47. But because it occupies a tank slot, its practicality is overshadowed by simply having two Tiger II on the field instead. This is a premium vehicle. It should enhance the lineup and fill the gaps, not discourage players from buying it due to slot restrictions.
And the common concern that adding a dedicated slot for AA vehicles might lead to fewer active players on the field?
I’ve been playing since 2021, and this has never been fixed. This isn’t some sweaty esports game like CSGO. It’s a casual PvPvE shooter. Not everyone cares about winning. I’ve been in so many matches where I’m literally the only one pushing the point. You think banning snipers would make those players push? No. They’d just go build AT guns or MGs in the grey zone. That’s a player problem — you can’t fix it with mechanics. But giving AA its own dedicated slot? That would actually help good players. It gives them a counter to planes. And those players aren’t going to just sit in their vehicle all game. They’ll still push and try to win.
I originally wanted to set up a dedicated deployment slot for all AA vehicles in the game.
But that’s not really doable. Tech tree AA vehicles are all in tier 1 tank squads, and those squads also include actual tanks. Whether a vehicle gets its own slot depends on if it has a unique class. Look at motorcycles. They have riders, so they don’t take up an APC slot. That would mean they’re acting as both AA gunners and tank crew, and that just doesn’t make sense.
Same thing applies to event or premium AA vehicles that come with squads. Their crew is already set as tank crew, so it’s not easy to just add a new class to them anytime soon.
The only ones that still have a chance are the AA vehicles from this pre order pack. Since they haven’t been released yet, there is still room for adjustments.
Should a dedicated deployment slot be added for AA vehicles?

I believe players should be able to play as an any vehicles they want and do whatever job they can to support the team. For better or for worse. We only have 2 slots so it is what it is. AA vehicles can still kill infantry, they’re basically light tank cousins. I don’t see any point in segregating AA vehicles.
Spawn a vehicle, get blown up, someone else gets a turn, they get blown up, that’s the cycle.
I don’t care whether you’re a Panzer 2 or Tiger 2 or anything else.
Rider and APC are their own slots because they are basically Infantry classes (with extra steps). The “tank” slot is more accurately the combat vehicle slot, ie fight and kill to support the team. Light, medium, heavy, artillery, tank destroyer, AA, flamethrower.

Gotta agree with @GiltBurrito7238-live on this. Separating AA tank and vehicles with tank would kinda be a bad idea, cause if other AA tanks get add then the battlefield will just be both AA tanks and tanks killing infantry and the opponents tanks.
Bit compared to the APC squads and riders that kinda different cause you can use infantry soldiers like medics and AT gunners.

I remain neutral on this opinion. If there is indeed a deployment slot that doesn’t occupy the tank slot, I think it would be sufficient to limit it to just one.
Currently, APCs have three slots, which means up to three APCs can be on the field at the same time.
Would you trade one APC slot for an AA slot?
Considering that more AA vehicles will be added in the future, should the limit be adjusted to a maximum of two APC and one AA vehicle on the field?
APC however are “fire and forget” vehicles.
Unless you play that German event APC with the Howitzer, you really shouldn’t use an APC to fight with - instead you always move as fast as you can into position to function as a spawn point.

No need of that we have enough vehicle slots there is only 1 fighter slot and 1 ground attacker meanwhile tankers have the flexibility to spawn whatever they want. So why would you need extra slot ? I mean its not 40 vs 40 game.

The idea itself isn’t that bad but i have one issue if this has to be implemented.
8.8cm Flak 37 Sfl is unironcally amazing in tank role on BR 3 because of it’s faster firing 88mm gun even when compared to other vehicles with 88mm. It being an open topped without coaxial MG actually mitigated by those high performing 88mm gun alone, effectively excels at both hurling HE at infantry and countering enemy tanks, which would make Germany effectively having 3 tanks on the field at the same time and that would be disastrous on overall balance.
Maybe reclassifying 8.8cm Flak 37 Sfl as a regular tank rather than being an AA vehicle would be needed if this to be implemented but i’m afraid that people, especially having access to 8.8cm Flak 37 Sfl will not like this idea at all if i were to guess.
Personally I think that should be changed. If we can have any combination of 2 vehicles, why not planes. I think there should just be a Pilot class. It’s more simpler
If this game was larger imagine we could have 10 vehicle slots. It would increase the variety of vehicles we’d have by the fact that we have more slots than a tiny two. I still wouldn’t want slots for specific vehicle types though. If you happen to get 10 King Tigers so be it
See this destroys OPs argument. The Flak 18 armed vehicles are SPAA, but because of their power some want them to remain tanks. So then what is the point of having a specific AA slot. A slot just for the low BR vehicles armed with 20 and 30mm? That’s no different than having a light tank vs heavy tank. We might as well then say light tanks shouldn’t take up a spot either.
If Flak vehicles remained in a supposed AA slot then you could end up with a Flak and 2 Tigers. Then everyone starts complaining about balance, so then what is the point of the separate slot in the first place. I thought that’s what people wanted?
See. For better or for worse the vehicle slot is any type of vehicle whether you’re a Panzer 2 of Tiger 2.
I’m against it. Simple math - 2 tanks, 2 planes, 2 saboteurs, and 1 more AA gun = 3 infantry squads. Are the points just going to sit empty? I’d just make the saboteur count as ground vehicle crew and double their respawn time. In return - give them a friendly marker while disguised.

Since this game only supports up to 10 players, assigning two tanks, one fighter, one bomber, one APC that can act as a self-propelled gun like the Sd.Kfz.251/9, and one anti-aircraft gun would mean that only a minimum of four players can deploy as infantry on the battlefield. I don’t think that’s a very good setup

What power exactly, I thought the 88 truck was bad
I thought custom lobbies could have up to 24 vs 24 teams
