About the new MM

So from what I know the new mm will maych people basing on the weapon with the highest rang. Imo this is kind of bad as it decreases weapon diversity.

For examole if I’d like take 8 kars, and a g43, there is little to no reason to not take 5 or 8 g43.
Why would I use anything that has lower rank than my best weapon?

Or for example I may be put against a dude with 9x3 grenades just because I have one similar weapon.

My suggestion is to change it from the max weapon rang to an average of 3 highest ranked squads.
So rangs of all squad’s equippment will be added. 3 squads with the most points will be used to get an average. This average will be used for mm

Imo it’s more fair and allows for greater weapon diversity while preventing abuse.

Edit
Actually sum of points makes more sense than average points. Reslut is the same.

It’s what I suggested from the start: use the average amount of “points” of each equipment piece one has, and pit that person vs similar points amount.

It would work better than a mm designed for WT vehicle gameplay.

Would also be a less lazy implementation…

Fact. But if if i take only kar98 for battle it will allow me to take a tiger II and play against a m4 sherman?
You know. because ''average amount of points”

If you are willing to have all your squads bare bone, I guess?
Also at this rating enemy should have good enough cas to deal with you.

It can be dealed by making very heavy tanks etc. high enough to “artificially” boost the rating.

Not exactly that way. I can join my friends with low ‘‘points’’ and share our tasks in battle. This can make my team have equipment well above the ‘‘battle points’’ rating

If this new system gets confusing I’m tempted to say they should just have literally everything available at all times.

I like the current system where we have to edit our squads before a match so we have to make strategic decisions and it makes everyone bring something to the table; but maybe they’d end up having it like other shooters where you can change your load out on the fly, like Battlefield

Yes, but:

So pretty much all your enemies could be outfitted with m2 carbine, medium tier, as example.

What it is a a big tradeoff. BUT it would still be possible to vary stuff and keep the game interesting, unlike the meta spam that devs are aiming for…

It’s an interesting point. For this system to work, of all the squad mates, the average points of the 3 best squads combined from the “platoon” could be taken into consideration, so it would prevent abuse.

I don’t know if you can understand me and forgive me for my bad english. I did this a few years ago in war thunder with my friends. It works really well and it was fun. For example we equipped a Tiger I tank alongside other low tier tanks. With the Tiger I our rating was something like ‘‘5.0’’ but mixing with some specific tanks we managed to lower it to something like ‘‘4.3’’ I don’t remember the numbers very well. Our tanks in general were bad for the match but the Tiger I made all the difference and together in 4 people we were much superior

Then take 3-6 best squads in the platoon and use that to mm.
Should be good enough.

Don’t worry, your English is good.

I understood, I meant that to prevent abuse, if you make a stack with 4 friends, of those 4 ppl, the system would calculate the 3 best squads points for matching.

So if a squad mate only use low lvl things, they won’t be calculated as another friend use stronger squads.

The only variation would be between the 3 best squads. Yes it would mean that stacks would often get put against ppl with a bit better stuf than solo players, but stacks have advantages already anyway.

Example:

  • teammate#1 : 1 king tiger squad, 2 riflemen squads with k98.

  • teammate#2 : 3 riflemen squads equipped with fg42II.

  • Result : points are calculated from the king tiger squad, and 2 fg42II riflemen squads.

Telepathy or what?

Okay now I understand. Seems to be a very complex system.

I call this logic. It’s a system that would work perfectly in Enlisted, would allow FAIR mm, AND still allow variety we love.

War thunder mm is NOT adapted for Enlisted.

Those who like it are already renowned to spam worst possible meta with no variation whatsoever, so of course a WT style mm would be fine to them.

What you and me propose, is REALLY a “better game for everyone” and not for a select few.

Not really.
Computing would be done in the main menu (so plenty of resources). And players don’t have to know the details.

The only really hard thing is to code it and give proper rating to things.

Not that complex in truth. A bit more difficult than lazy warthunder max BR matchmaker, true.

But Enlisted IS more complex: we can control UP TO 9 MEN simultaneously, whereas in warthunder, only 1 vehicle.

A warthunder mm would not work well in Enlisted, and make matches really bland and repetitive.

For example, if I’d like to take 3 highest rank squads, there is little to no reason to not take 5 or 8.
Why would I use anything that has lower rank than my best squad?

Because some ppl are f2p, and don’t have much more than 3 or 4 squads to choose from…

Why would you take 5 the same meta squads when all you need is 3 to spawn in a “loop”?

So you finally said it.
This system is all about taking single meta gun/vehicle to low level battles to mock noobs.

There’s a thing devs try to sell with the new unlock tree that ppl overlooked entirely, and again a dum wt mm would not work with:

“With the new tech tree, you can focus on what you like only!”

That’s cute. But if a new players likes lmgs and grind only lmgs… he will be put vs meta spammers using the highest value of his ONE lmg, while all the rest of his troops are not lvled.

This WT IS NOT EVEN NEW PLAYER FRIENDLY
