About the 10 weapon handling perk (greater chance of getting downed)

TL:DR: what does the perk do?

The +50% to downed time is clear, as you can see it in-game.
But what about the higher chance of getting downed?
How does it work?
I have heard people claim that you always only get downed if you have a medkit, is it true?
Than what is the higher chance?
Also I heard that a headshot will always be lethal, how is it with this perk?

This I can confirm. It’s insta death without med kits.

About the perk itself… I BELIEVE it does exactly how it’s written, provided a medkit is in inventory. It’s still possible to die instantly even with medkits tho…

It’d be nice to have more numerical data about it

I used to believe it like this.
Lets say soldier have 10 base HP but to insta-kill someone have to inflicted 13 damage (not real number). 10-13 is metkit usage zone. by increasing chance of getting downed mean increasing the metkit usage zone (?) → 10-14 etc.
But it would be just vitality perk, so it doesn’t quite make sense.

i think @8894782 about to cover this in a video

Okay, yes I noticed that for example with rockets, I just always die by rockets, with this perk or with out. If I am hit by handguns, I always get downed but I have this perk on pretty much everyone.

Maybe we can try on a custom game?
I actually want to do a video about it

Okay, I understand and that is what I believe as well  But yeah, it is hard to tell what it does exactly do.

Who wants to spend some time with me on an custom game, to find out. Obviously you need soldiers with this perk an without this perk and must be willing to get shoot :joy: for science!
Probably we should also communicated with a microphone, to better coordinate the testing ;).
If you are willing to find out the mysteries of this perk do not hesitate to write in this thread or send me a message!

Would love to get a community willing to test changes now that custom matches are a thing.

Yeah no one really knows how downing and stuff works. I’m thinking it’s just a base chance and the perk increases that chance. It’ll be a bit of testing since I’ll have to get someone to just shoot me like 200 times and test how many times I go down with the perk and how many without lol

I believe total inflicted damage plays some role too.
I have mostly played Moscow, and the dragoon (15dmg) clearly kills without DBNO way more often than the M1938 (13 dmg).
