You already can, remove the scope from the Sniper FG-42 II.

The B-17 is iconic, but what you want is the B-24 because it had a larger bomb payload and more speed.
(sitting the the nose of a b-17 is an amazing view though. You can see everything when you are in the air. I imagine its a different experience with enemy flak though.)
I wonder if the B25 could be an attack plane. Would be especially cool if it had the 75mm nose cannon.
