When the lead indicaror appeared I shoot like 20 rounds into a plane but did no damage. But when they got closer, bombers were almost oneshoted by AA.
So does the lead indicator appear outside of the AA’s effective range?
I noticed that the other day too, the indicators arent very accurate weirdly enough. But doing as you said and I land a lot more shots

Thats because AA damage drop in distance or the server hamster dont like you
